I have been going to Bamboo Cuisine for over 15 years and referred friends and family. They were great. Recently my experience has been really bad with the way I was treated as a paying customer. Tony, manager, was dictating how much tip to pay the driver.

The service was excellent, the food was almost inedible. The chicken in lettuce cups were dry, flavorless and we didn't eat any. The entire meal was just sadly not good. For over $100 I had expected more.

This is the best Chinese food in all of Sherman Oaks--and believe me, I have looked. I moved here from having spent my entire life being surrounded by good Chinese food, and I was depressed at the lack of options. Until I found Bamboo Cuisine. This place does Chinese food the right way, authentically and super fresh! It's a little bit more upscale/pricier than your local Chinese takeout spots--but the price you pay is absolutely reflected in the quality of the food. I love that it's also family-owned, and the servers actually speak Chinese (and obviously, English)--which is important to me. I came here on Lunar New Year once as I was feeling home sick, and was so touched at their good mood, and accommodation. They ended up sending me home with a complimentary quart of soup, which was so kind! My usual orders are Yang Chow Fried Rice, Salt & Pepper Chicken Wings, Bamboo Chicken, Beef & Broccoli--but truly everything I've had here is delicious and authentic. I order from them at least once a week!

Best Chinese food, service impeccable, no wait to sit, and food arrived promptly. Great vibe. Lots of choices on menu.

Walking in I didn't expect to be met with a full bar and such beautiful decor. Sitting at our booth there is elegant design in this humble restaraunt, which makes our experience a great start. My partner and I shared some appetizers and entrees, great portions and flavor. I also had one of their house cocktails which was very tasty! I am definitely coming back, service was a little slow at times with my water being empty for a bit and empty glass of beer and bottle sitting on the table most of the night but that doesn't deter me from wanting to bring my friends and family to this great find in Sherman Oaks!

The food here is delicious and the serving sizes are enormous. The place itself has a very family-friendly vibe and you can tell this place has been around a while (for good reason!).

Delicious - have been coming here for years and it's an absolute gem. Love the pan fried noodles, baby bok choy, shrimp fried rice, and orange chicken. Highly recommend

Not great. The white rice is consistently overcooked. The the chicken dishes are tiny, tiny pieces of chicken and are tough and chewy. Three delivery orders now have been the same.

This is hands down my alltime favorite Chinese restaurant! The sizzling rice soup, the sweet and pungent shrimp, the orange chicken! Everything here is superb and everyone here is amazingly attentive and friendly! Have been coming to this place since I was a baby and I'll be coming until the day they close or I can't physically go anymore. ❤️

Probably the last time I'll ever come here. My family has been going to this restaurant for 30+ years. Tonight, we came in as a group of 9, including 2 babies (17 and 18 months old). The babies were a little loud at times, but no meltdowns. Just the occasional (annoying) shrieks that 1 year old babies are known to make. There were some older couples in the restaurant that complained, a few moved. I get it, 1 year old baby sounds are not exactly Enya. But it was 5:45 on a Sunday night. It's a restaurant with 20 high chairs. It's made for families and we were there at a family hour. The owner, Joseph, was rushing around to these older couples and apologizing profusely. Endlessly. One lady was literally walking around to every table in the room to commiserate and complain about us. It was so noticeable, it was actually making us feel super uncomfortable. Then Joseph came over and said in an aggressive way "can I get the babies some food?" As if we weren't feeding them and that's why they were "misbehaving". We ordered so much food and the man was asking if he could bring us some rice as a huge mound of it sat on our table. Then he whispered in my sister-in-law's ear "people are complaining they are screaming." It was so rude and inappropriate. These are 1 year old babies. Short of duck-taping their mouths shut or just leaving, I'm not sure what else we could do. And like I said, this was normal behavior. They weren't melting down or even crying. We probably would've left if they were doing that. So I walked over and asked to speak to Joseph and he immediately started yelling at me. Vibrating with rage. He told me the babies "caused" all this and that "everyone" in the room was complaining. Would not even speak to me calmly. He had zero time for me, but all the time in the world to placate an 80 year old lady splitting a bowl of soup with her friend for dinner. No exaggeration, I thought Joseph was going to throw a punch. What made this restaurant special was the family atmosphere. It is gone now. I would go elsewhere if you have young kids. And babies, look out when you're around Joseph! It's too bad, I just discovered the salt and pepper fish...

Not the best Chinese food in the valley, we preferred Ping Pong. Bamboo seems old fashioned and average Chinese food
