This was our first time at the restaurant. We were so pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere. The owner or manager was charming and engaging. The food was OK. The pizza was relatively good and the lobster pasta had a generous amount of lobster. Once we added more truffle oil on some salt, it was pretty flavorful. The best thing was the bread at the beginning. It was flavorful and well seasoned. Because this is close to home, we will be back and try it again.

The owner and staff were so welcoming!!! A pretty standard Italian dinner menu was made amazing by the chef who's take on things was so much better than expectations. And they were so accomodating about helping with parking (Ventura is busy early in the evening) that we will definitely be back, and bring some friends.

Last night was our first time to Il Nido. The restaurant was pretty empty when we arrived, then filled up while we were there. They seemed like they were trying hard, but there just wasn't enough staff to service the restaurant. When we arrived, strips of bread on a wood board and plain water was offered and brought to the table. My Husband ordered chicken Marsala. He said it was edible but not very good. I ate his zucchini, which was very good. My son had fettuccine Bolognese, and he liked it very much. I had the rice balls, which were delicious but only came with two and were expensive given it was only two. I also had buratta caprese salad which would have been ok except for the tomatoes were mealy and hard. I had a side of sautéed asparagus which was just okay. A good portion, but not presented well or cut nicely. The wine list is limited, But very affordable.

Immediately we were greeted by the manager, or owner? and he graciously helped us with parking and seating. Very quickly our server brought us delicious bread and olive oil. Our dinner was superbe, it's a very pretty and cozy neighborhood restaurant, much needed in our neighborhood!

It was our first visit to this restaurant and was pleasantly surprised. Service was outstanding, attentive and friendly. we were early diners and were only the second customer of the day. The food was outstanding. The Caesar salad was delicious and we shared it. The Branzino with lemon and caper sauce along with spinach was outstanding. We look forward to another visit soon.

A new restaurant needs to greet their customers. We had to find our own table since no one was at the entrance to seat us. The waiter was knowledgeable and food service was well paced. The noise level made it hard to converse with the waiter and each other. There was a long wait for the tab and the payment pick up. The food was average for this area and we were so hoping to welcome an outstanding chef to the neighborhood.

I recently went to this restaurant that had amazing food and service. The pasta dish was cooked to perfection, and the sauce was delicious. The staff was very friendly and attentive, making the overall experience even better. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great Italian meal!

The owner was so apologetic about us having to wait for our table - they were clearly overwhelmed on a Saturday night, but they couldn't have been any kinder and went overboard to make us happy. Food was fantastic & we will definitely go back

I have been looking for this type of restaurant for years in LA. The LA food scene has become so trendy and loud, that it almost takes too much effort to go out for a nice meal. This place checked all my boxes - amazing food (carbonara past 10/10), superb service, not too dark, and no loud music so I could actually have a conversation with my friends without yelling and straining to hear. I will most definitely be back!

Delicious food for a great neighborhood restaurant. We brought our family here and enjoyed the branzino, fettuccine with truffles, puttanesca pasta and beet salad. Service was excellent. We will definitely return.

Good food, good value, great service. A nice new addition to the neighborhood and worthy of taking friends too. Ambiance was nice and welcoming. TIP: if you get there before 7p, park on Firmament (side street) where there is ample and easy street parking.

This was my third visit!! The delicious focaccia and pasta keep me coming back! If you visit before 7pm, park on Dickens St. I have brought multiple friends here, my new favorite local restaurant!

I based my decisions off yelps reviews.... It did not disappoint. We enjoyed the carbonara, butternut squash pastas, along with the tricolore salad all was very good. I certainly will return.

The food was very good and the prices are a good value. Very much tasted like Italy. Will definitely be going back. The only issue is the parking. Before 7 there is no parking on Ventura Blvd so you have to find parking on side streets

The food was impeccable! They had a cappellini sausage rapini ‘special' that was out of this world! Rigatoni alla vodka was done so right!! I brought my five-year-old twins and it was so family oriented... the staff the ambience was calm and fun ... this will be our regular Italian spot! Already planning a girls night out ❤️
