The fried chicken was amazing and fresh. The breading as well was perfect and was not to think nor thin and cooked to perfection. The customer service as well was impeccable, all of the workers as well as the owners caters to your needs and makes sure that your enjoying the place. Hands down one of the best fried chicken as well as the customer service I’ve ever had

It took one bite of the peach cobbler cornbread to convince me I had found an excellent spot. It was so intensely flavorful, moist, and perfectly textured that it was gone in moments between my friend and I. My friend got the dirty rice and I got the vegan "not so dirty" rice. There are several different vegan and vegetarian options, as well as plenty of fish and shrimp dishes. I went back tonight (because of course I did) and got a dark meat chicken plate with crispy cauliflower and rolling Johns. This time we got a double order of hush puppies, which turned out to be wise. Once again, everything was excellent.
The staff is friendly and chill, service is quick. Dining area is small but clean and comfortable with good soul tunes playing. After you start eating, though, you'll be too blissed out to notice. Cannot recommend this place enough.

Being from the south it’s hard to find food like this out here! This brought me back home. Thank you. I will definitely be a new regular!

Absolute best mac and cheese. And the best candied yams. And the best chicken. I’ve yet to be disappointed by the food here. We usually get take-out but decided to sit in for lunch and while we were eating, both my boyfriend and I asked ourselves why we don’t come more often. Great food, good prices, nice people. Highly recommend.

Highly recommend this place!! Mac & Cheese was straight up the best I’ve had.
Honestly all the sides were super good, I could rave about the collard greens, black eyed peas, & hush puppies. Catfish & fried chicken were also super crispy & delicious. Huge portions, very reasonable price for the quality of the food.
Our group ordered:
- 6pcs Chicken Drums sticks w/ Mac & Cheese, Hush puppies (really good)
- Cat Fish(my favorite) & Onion Rings
- Cat Fish & collard greens, black eyed peas, & candied yams.
Chris the owner was super friendly and gave us good recommendations. Would definitely come back

Cea-Lo LA: Soul Food with a Modern Twist
Tucked in the heart of Los Angeles, Cea-Lo LA offers a soulful culinary experience that stands out for its creative take on traditional southern flavors. As soon as you walk through the doors, the warm, inviting aroma of familiar comfort foods fills the air, but the dishes here are far from ordinary—they're soulful yet refined, offering a delightful balance of tradition and innovation.
I began my meal with their Kung Pao Shrimp and Grits, (not on the menu 😎) a dish that exemplifies the bold creativity of the kitchen. The tender shrimp, kissed with a spicy-sweet Kung Pao sauce, sits atop creamy, buttery grits that melt in your mouth. The combination of the Southern staple with a touch of Asian heat is brilliant, offering a flavor profile that dances between rich and tangy without overpowering the senses. It's fusion done right.
Next up, the Fried Catfish with Collard Greens and Mac & Cheese—a classic combination that feels like a warm hug from your Southern grandma. The catfish was crispy on the outside, perfectly seasoned with a crunch that gave way to tender, flaky fish. Paired with collard greens cooked just right—smoky with a hint of vinegar—and mac & cheese that was decadently creamy, each bite was a journey through layers of flavor and texture.
But perhaps the crown jewel of the meal was the dessert: Peach Cobbler Cornbread. This dish alone could bring you back to Cea-Lo LA time and time again. The warm, crumbly cornbread was studded with juicy peaches, adding a burst of sweetness to every bite. It's the perfect balance of comfort and nostalgia, with a little twist that makes it unforgettable.
Cea-Lo LA isn’t just serving soul food; they’re elevating it. Whether you’re a die-hard traditionalist or someone eager to experience something new, this place has something for everyone. With dishes that pay homage to their roots while daring to be different, Cea-Lo LA is a must-visit for any soul food lover.

I went in one time and I got some college greens which were very, very good. So I said I must stop by here some other time. I get some food. Then I stop by maybe about a couple weeks ago and then I got some fish and grits. I think the fish was like snapper. The snapper, whatever anyway, it was the worst fish I had in my life. It tasted like the fish was old or something and the grits wasn't seasoned. If you go
There to give them a chance.Give them a chance because it's a fellow black business and all.I can agree with that but the food that I had other than the very first time when I had the greens was not good at all. If you go.., dont order the red snapper and cheese grits.

While I wasn’t particularly floored by Cea-Lo LA, I would still recommend everyone go there. The service was friendly but almost too laid back to where there wasn’t really a flow to the ordering process. This isn’t a big deal but it was a bit confusing knowing who was going to be helped next. I also wasn’t given utensils or napkins with my order, I had to ask for them. As for the food, I got the Fly Fish Dinner with Collard Greens and Potato Salad. The weakest element were the Collards. Although it didn’t bring down the whole meal, it was disappointing. They had a good bite to them but lacked any real flavor and just tasted like cooked greens since they weren’t made with a ham hawk. The Potato Salad, on the other hand, was great. It was properly cold, there were just enough chucks of potato and egg to add texture but it was still very and I think there was some pickle relish in there too which added some good sweetness. The Fly Fish was stand out. The pieces are huge so it’s a great portion. The fish itself is breaded perfectly and super delicate, melting like butter when it hits your tongue. I would highly HIGHLY recommend the Fly Fish and Potato Salad. While not everything was great, the things that were, were amazing and I would love to go back to try out more of their menu.
Parking: The parking lot has a limited number of spaces and they are pretty tight.

I called in a to go order from this place after randomly finding it on my Google search and I was NOT disappointed!!! As a southern girl who moved to LA a few years ago, my husband and I were taken home with the candied yams, mac and cheese and fried hen SO GOOD! And the banana pudding was delicious too. Service was super quick, nice and friendly too! Definitely earned a new regular patron. Made my night, truly! ☺️??

Awesome soul food at a great price. We had shrimp and grits, catfish, collards and Mac and cheese, and a grilled chicken sandwich. All great tasting, well prepared. Chef took the time to come out and asked how we liked it—we told him it was awesome! Highly recommended—don’t miss it whether you live near here or, like us, you’re just looking for a place to stop on your way through.
