Happy Days Cafe located on Ventura Blvd in Sherman Oaks is only skip away from one my favorite local restaurants, O'cado. It's a dessert and more cafe w/ cozy seating inside and out, great service and lots of vegan as well as vegan gluten-free options. You can enjoy most of their churros, churro sandwich, shakes and their dairy free ice cream. Go for the mini, regular, filled and/or all the frills at HDC. Parking is limited, local street (metered) or paid garage. They're open late most of the week, so you can enjoy the perfect vegany treat.
I come to LA at least twice a year and my family did not even notice that this place was here. They pass by here almost every day and notics it today!!!! I am so happy we discovered this place because sometimes I just want to eat churros! I'm not a pastry. So, as you can read, it was our first time. They had churros sampler!!!! These churros had guava, dulce de leche, Oreo, and Nutella. They also had the plan one with chocolate sauce. My favorites are the guava and dulce the leche. They were piping hot when they were served. The woman who took my order was a sweetheart and professional. We had the same favorite, guava and dulce de leche. Our churros were fresh and good. I believe these churros are vsgan and gluten free. I wish I wasn't so full to try some coffee here. They had an horchata latte and a Nutella cappuccino. They make the churro dough fresh twice a day. It was a cute spot. I'm just so happy to be able to go eat churros after dinner. I loved the spot. Try the churro sampler. The plain with chocolate sauce was ok. We prefer dark chocolate and this one was milk chocolate. But y'all, Fresh. Hot. Yummy. Churros. Definitely coming back when I'm in LA.
For reference, it was a Thursday evening around 7pm. It wasn't too full.

The churros are really good. The lady behind the counter wasn’t very welcoming. Atmosphere was nice though.

Look if you don’t know about this place I recommend you go there for the Matcha and their desserts are made from scratch when I say it’s fire. Trust me I’m black. I know it’s seasoning taste like in flavor. lol

A very cute place with many vegan options for a sweet tooth friends.
One star less - no bathroom!!! Omg the basic. Why?
Otherwise the churro looked delish, hot chocolate with almond milk was huge and very sweet and the nice lady sold me a banana for $1,5 :))) I wanted something healthy. Drinking water is avalible … but again - no bathroom… very inconvenient but definitely a good strategy for exchange of customers 😜

This place is a treat. Highly recommend. Nice, wholesome, friendly people with excellent food and coffee. Not too loud. Great place to meet with others in a good, welcoming atmosphere.

Where do I even begin. I found this place looking for a gluten free bakery for my girlfriend who has celiac. We find this and head over. We wanted to get the gluten free churro sampler, as they have an entire GF menu! Come to find out they still fry everything in all the same oil, which completely makes it so celiacs can’t eat there. Okay, sucks, but we’ll get a vegan, dairy free, gluten free, milkshake. We get the salted caramel & chocolate milkshake, and we try it and there is coconut in it, and that wasn’t advertised. I go back and they tell me coconut is in everything that’s vegan here, but they don’t advertise it, so again another allergy that could be dangerous. To top it all off, as the cashier was taking our order, she started to ring up an ubereats order without telling us and when we went to pay it paid for that order. Overall, a terrible experience from the service, the product, the atmosphere, would never recommend this place to anyone.

They don’t allow samples of ice cream lol kinda weird for 2025. Just use a small disposable wooden spoon
I'm going to be honest and fair in my review. I'm giving it three stars solely for the decor and music. The churros don't taste fresh and are also overcooked. The owner should know 100% how the texture and flavor of his product should be, but I think he got to the point of quantity over quality. The house coffee doesn't give it a good taste because they added hot whole milk when they told me they would give me half and half. I hope your next visit is better than mine.
