Rude and off-putting staff
This place has such a calm and cozy atmosphere — perfect for working, reading, or catching up with a friend. The coffee is smooth and well-balanced, not overly bitter, and the matcha is one of the best I’ve tried in the area. I also love their pastry selection — always fresh, with some unique seasonal options. Staff is friendly and service is quick even when it’s busy. Definitely one of my favorite spots to start the day or take a mid-afternoon break.
I ordered a frappuccino. A few minutes later, I received my drink and asked if it was a frappuccino. The response was that they did not have frappuccinos. He should have been honest about not having that drink instead of giving me something completely different. That is unacceptable.
Cool space and iced coffee on a hot day. Efficient use of bar/counter seating, and a few patio tables on Ventura Boulevard. They make drinks quickly. The vanilla latte is pretty good…not the most delicate flavor and quite sweet, but not unbearably sweet.
I had an excellent iced hazelnut latte here. I’m very picky about hazelnut drinks since most coffee chains make their syrup taste too synthetic and super sweet. The one I had here was definitely one of the best I’ve had. The staff were friendly and helpful.
Been visiting some of my local coffee shops lately and I really wanted to like this place. The barista who helped me wasn't very friendly. I always look forward to getting to know my local baristas. My drink also tasted funny so I didn't drink it. I read other reviews where people stalked about stomach pain after visiting.
My hot dirty chai was excellent!

Hands down my favorite coffee shop. Staff is amazing, food is one of a kind and drinks are made perfect. I also get my fav beans here as well. Definitely my favorite place to go and number one on my list. Park in the back lot - they validate!
Vegetarian options: There are lots of vegan options and they also have vegan cookies
Parking: Park in the back lot and get a ticket - bring to front counter to validate for free
Kid-friendliness: I always see kids in here enjoying their time! Go in the the early morning and it’s not that busy

Overall, I think this is the best coffee shop and I’ll tell you why. I’m a solopreneur and need a spot with decent WiFi and not a crazy amount of noise in case I need to take a call. Before, I’d go to Philz but there’s two things there; one is an absurd tax on parking and most importantly they don’t have porcelain cups. There’s another spot with great coffee, parking, and cups but their staff would frequently change and often they’d have the music pumping like it’s a night club or something, in an absurdly small space. I got in trouble for it before taking a serious call with jazz blaring in the background 😂. Ideology has the best mix: vibe is great, staff is stable and all great people, coffee is good, they have good parking, the area is inspirational, many cool folks from all walks, construction to entertainment to all sorts like myself, parking is robust in the side streets (avoid Dickens), never had an issue, the walkabout the area is the best in town. They make all their strips in house, I don’t eat during the day and don’t like sweets, but I think that’s something that can really make them pop, people spend crazy money on good sourdough gluten-free breads and sweets— I 1 billion percent recommend this spot as your go to local coffee spot hands down ☕️❤️

The baristas here are always so kind and choose great music, and the coffee is really great too. One of my favorite coffee shops in LA :) Nice place to draw or do homework, and they also have rewards which is nice <3

Absolutely amazing in the first half of the day! The atmosphere is perfect for enjoying coffee and getting some work done. However, in the afternoon, the vibe changes with loud rock music blasting, which feels out of place and makes it hard to stay. The morning ambiance suits the coffee shop much better.

The croissant was so fresh.
I am a little loose with my 5’s but I really liked this place and I look forward to going back. I really enjoyed that I could buy a basic cup of coffee for under $5 , perhaps it was even under$4!!! Shocking I know. They just made a pot and were happy to share it with me. It was nice not being looked at like I have 12 heads when I just wanted a plain cuppa coffee.
ORRR being told I need to get an Americana because they don’t have regular coffee. Blah blah blah…. People watching was great. The place was pristine. I really appreciate that. Kids behind the counter, at this point, everyone’s a kid, were very professional, and I certainly enjoyed their enthusiasm. I chose Ideology off google based on location and that it was not an incredibly huge well-known chain.
I have no problems with that incredibly, huge well-known chain BTW … I just want something unique and different sometimes. Oh, and not for someone to look me like I have 12 heads for wanting a plain cuppa Joe. So I guess, that 5 stars was well earned.
