Another excellent meal at Kaiju. The sushi is always fresh and they have nicely sized portions. The quality/size/price are excellent. The owner (Daniel?) is always attentive and very nice.

nigiri sushi is a bit overpriced and small but the cut rolls were a good portion and great taste! we loved it, sheff and waitress were nice too.

We eat sushi at least once a week and wanted to try somewhere new outside our standard haunts. We were sorry we did. First, there was a horrific sewer smell when you entered the restaurant. At that point my husband and I questioned if we should be seated, but since we drove a distance to dine and had reservations, we checked in. We ordered basic Japanese dishes - edamame, miso soup and a few sushi pieces to try to decide if we would stay. The ginger and wasabi were served on the table prior to the delivery of food. The ginger was brown and hard, certainly not fresh. And that was just the beginning. The miso soup and garlic edamame were inedible. (The photo is what the edamame was drowning in). The edamame was severely undercooked, and therefore difficult to eat. The miso soup had a strange flavor. The hand roll seaweed was gooey, not crisp, and not wrapped properly so the majority of the spicy tuna landed on the floor. The other pieces of sushi were just ok. We made reservations at our favorite standby and left. We’re not sure how this restaurant has the good reviews that it has. We could just assume that it was a one-off experience. But given the lack of cleanliness (the menu had stains all over it), the rank smell of the place, the lack of freshness of the fish, and the server who couldn’t pronounce the various types of sushi, we determined that this restaurant just didn’t meet our expectations for a good sushi dining experience even though it may satisfy other diners’ expectations.

Kailua signature roll is a must. The service was super friendly and answer our question. The Japanese beer was delicious too. it's a great place for a date.

I had one of the worst dining experiences at Kaiju Sushi. The service was so unorganized and inattentive that I ended up leaving before I could even place an order. No one seemed interested in acknowledging or helping customers, and after waiting far too long without so much as a greeting or water, I gave up. There are plenty of sushi spots in LA that actually care about their guests—this definitely isn’t one of them.

Best Sushi spot my wife and I are there frequently and Betty and the owner are very friendly. Love the vibe and the positive energy of all the workers. It's a very pleasant place to be. Highly highly recommend it.

While recently visiting the area, I ran in to pick up takeout sushi for my two older teenagers. The restaurant felt like it had a locals vibe and the service was very friendly and professional. My kids said the sushi rolls they ordered were fresh and absolutely on point! Would return and recommend!

I finally found a legit Japanese Fish restaurant in the San Fernando Valley after Maya sushi changed its ownership. The quality of fish is incredibly stellar and the taste is superb. The rich flavor of the salmon the the crisp flavor of the yellowtail and the sweetness of the Sweet Shrimp is memorable. The fact that the chef fries the head of the sweet shrimp is wonderful. Paying more for the prime selection of the sashimi is definitely worth the price. The thickness of the fish is spot on and their fried food items are tasty.

The Atmosphere was very warm and welcoming, and the waitresses were very friendly, outgoing, and knowledgeable about the menu. The food was out of this world, well at least the ones we got and if you are a sushi lover you should check them out. The price was also very great for the quality and taste of the food.

Really yummy spot! I loved the options they had in the menu, everything was very fresh, and the staff was super friendly and helpful. The price was really great too. Their parking area is small and street parking is hard, lots of no parking zones and the busy streets nearby are packed. Took me some time to find it. Overall great place. I’d definitely go again!
