A True Lifesaver!
I was in a bind when our party of 6 lost our reservation made over a month ago due to a glitch in the online system. Despite being fully booked, Malama Pono graciously accommodated us and made our friend's birthday celebration unforgettable. The horseradish crusted mahi mahi was absolutely divine, and the service was top-notch. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and special. I can't recommend this place enough! Ho, you gotta get to Malama Pono quick, cuz their food stay da kine! Shoots, so ono you gonna like go back tomorrow! Make sure you call ahead and talk to one real person when you make reservations, cuz da online stuff? Dis kine poo poo. Stay junk, brah. 🤙

Terrific food and service. Lots of interesting tasty choices. We went for the French toast dessert and the only disappointment ... Crunchy but too greasy.

Perhaps it is personal preference, I just not not find any of the food to really that good. Host and server were pleasant, but both wore masks, which I found off putting

Had such a great dinner here. Service is really top notch; host and waiter were friendly and attentive. Restaurant decor and ambiance was very pretty.
Food came out timely. Ordered the Braised Short Rib Adobo. Short rib was soft and fell apart easily. The plantain puree was great and a nice change of pace from the basic starches you typically get like mashed potato. Got a little crunch and earthy-ness from the macadamia nuts. And it came with a side of rice.
Also ordered the Malama Loco Moco. Love a good loco moco. This was decent, but I've had better in O'ahu.
Would recommend trying this place out. They have so many options that all sound delicious.

This was my first visit here and I'm already planning the next. We had an absolutely lovely dinner here. Our server was very careful with our food allergies (dairy and gluten) and helped us navigate the menu. The seared ahi tuna steak was amaziiiiiing, it will be hard not to order that again next time. The snapper was also very very good, the flavors were layered and delicate. The shochu cocktails were interesting and delicious.
The owner came by the table to make sure we were having a good time and you tell how passionate he is about his work. A+ for food and vibes.

Went here to celebrate a triple birthday for myself and my daughter and granddaughter. We arrived for a reservation a few minutes early and were able to get seated right away. The drinks are fantastic, try the sangria. The service was friendly and attentive, and they even put little candles in our desserts. It’s beautiful inside and they also have a patio which seems nice. Will definitely be back.

Finally got to try Malama Pono out and I'm so sad I only just discovered it! Meal was amazing I didn't even get to take pics before everyone scarfed it down! Staff and environment is on point. Cannot wait to go back!

One of the best dinners I have had in a long while! The owners and staff were so welcoming and so attentive to their customers. You can tell it’s a loving work environment. Plus the food is to DIE FOR. The duck and lobster were amazing. If you’re looking for new flavors and a relaxing atmosphere this is the place for you. Can’t wait to come again!!

Love this restaurant. Seriously, everything that I’ve had there is so good, especially the mochiko chicken. I can’t get enough of that. And the shrimp & grits.
