Italian food was was average, but the service was good. It was a weekday dinner, so it was dead so not much to say about atmosphere.

A charming, small Italian restaurant with an authentic feel. The food was excellent overall! We started with the rosemary focaccia, which was amazing, especially for just $1. The calamari fritti was decent but not a standout. For our entrees, we had the grilled salmon and the Gulf shrimp scampi, both of which tasted incredibly delicious and flavorful. Service was okay. The quality of the food made up for it. Highly recommend!

On 12/23/2024, I brought my family, six people, to dinner at Maria’s Kitchen, Sherman Oaks. I have been coming to the restaurant for the past twenty to twenty-five years, having lived just south of Valley Vista Blvd. I have known many staff and many managers there. The food is always great. However, tonight, we were seated at a table whose server was dismissive from the beginning. When I asked her for a sweet wine for my wife, she said, “Well, all we have is…such and such,” as if I was a bother to her, rather than her responding with something like, “I think your wife would find this variety pleasing” or anything positive. She seemed to us to want to be done with us as soon as possible, and when paying, we never got a “Thank you for coming by, we hope to see you again.” The reason that I point these things out is that every server I have ever had at this restaurant was friendly and warm. The shame of it is that I had been telling my sister about this restaurant for the past ten years, and this was her first time there. She noticed too. I had a short talk with the manager, Chris, about our experience on this night, and he apologized for her. My wife commented to me before we even got to the car how this server lacked any kind of welcoming attitude. I hope that this is the exception and not the norm from here on out. I will come again to Maria’s Kitchen as I always have, but before being seated next time, I will ask for the manager to make sure I have a different server. Tonight was a disappointment, my first of its kind at this restaurant.

Haven’t been here in years and what a wonderful surprise to come back anc the food was better than ever! The service was phenomenal but I can’t stop thinking about the chopped Italian salad, it’s out of this world delicious! So much so I need another one today!!
Dietary restrictions: I have to be careful with red sauce and spices due to a stomach condition and the chicken parm anc the sauce was amazing and I could eat it with no problem

Orderd a pepperoni pizza to go and ohh my goodness it's the pizza I've Ben craving. Cheesy but not greasy ya know . Y'all gotta try this spot . It wasn't too busy when I went on but from what I remember it usually is. It looks like they've updated the place since I've Ben in it's very classy and romantic .

I don’t recommend this place. Worst service I’ve seen in a long time. I don’t know how this place has a four star.
Our waiter took our order around 6:50pm for 7 people. We didn’t get our food until exactly 7:57pm, not to mention food was terrible except for the pizza. Won’t be returning.

When you make a bolognese sauce that's 90% mushrooms 10% meat it becomes glaringly obvious that it is done to save money. Especially since there are no mushrooms in the description. Though it tasted good, it wasn't a bolognese, it was a mushroom sauce. Please be honest to your customers.

Maria’s is simply the best in the area for Italian - their meatball sub is the best I’ve ever had, no kidding! Their staff is always friendly and very helpful - Give it a shot you won’t be disappointed

First time trying this place. Had a small side Chopped Italian Salad and a Pepperoni and Cheese Calzone. Both were wonderful. I have found my local Italian restaurant!
