I reserved a table on the patio for lunch but when I arrived at the restaurant I was told that there was no wait staff on the patio that day. The host said that they often open the patio on Fridays but that otherwise it's closed (at least this month). He acknowledged that the Marmalade website/Open Table lets guests choose the patio even though it's not actually going to be available! Other than that, Marmalade Cafe is an excellent choice for lunch because the food is delicious, the menu is diverse, and the service is good.
All of the staff at Marmalade couldn't be better! So personable and helpful and accommodating. And I LOVE their grilled artichoke - can never resist it!
Had a lovely breakfast at the location in Sherman Oaks. The portions were hefty and service was impeccable..definitely come back again. Parking is in limited supply, but easy if you get their early and there are metered street parking.
Good food. Good service. Fair prices. Free parking behind the restaurant. Extensive menu. Full bar.
The service was terrible. I had a reservation, and I was meeting someone I had never met in person. I checked in and was seated. My guest asked for me at the host station, and they said I was there. They seated him at a different table. It took at least 15 minutes and a phone call for us to find one another. The waiter didn't stop by to take my drink order until I had been sitting at the table for about 40 minutes, and I had to call him over. The food was fine, but they brought me the wrong item. I don't plan to return.
The wait for ordering and food was long. They allow people to smoke outside in front of the restaurant and Every time the door opened the restaurant would be filled with smoke. Gross. Wait staff seemed busy doing other things. I think because it was close to closing they wanted to get out of there.
Our waiter was MIA for most of our meal. It took us almost 40 minutes before we placed an order. He should've been more attentive.
The server was very accommodating adding an extra table for 5 people to be more comfortable. We had to suggest that we want a drink first before ordering. Basically she was quite nice and we stayed late as this was a family visit with visitors from NJ. I notice the pea soup ordered by 2 people was not edible - it was very thick and unappealing. My linguini and shrimp that I ordered was very tasty . The others seemed to like their main courses.
We went to.Marmalade for 12:30 pm lunch on a Sunday, and the restaurant was busy. While we got sat quickly, the pacing of our meal took longer than we expected, probably due to our server being busy. It took about 5 minutes after ordering for us to get our drinks, and about 30 minutes after ordering (sandwiches) for us to receive our food. Also, the fries tasted like they'd been sitting under the food warmer for a while. I'm going to chalk this up as an anomaly because we've had great service at Marmalade in the past and will continue to dine there.
Cute cafe. Good selection for a Sunday breakfast or brunch. Friendly service, shower slow kitchen service. I haven't been here in 10 years and nothing has changed. Location is definitely due for a remodel. Old and tired looking. Uncomfortable chairs crowded together. Overall I would come back if I'm in the area but not a meeting destination.

First time hopefully not the last time. The quality of food, the service, menu options, ambiance, location, the outdoor patio option. The venue needs additional restrooms. They have outgrown their original space.
The salmon was a bit undercooked but overall good ambience. It was quieter than usual Saturday night.
Good food and excellent service with friendly staff but it gets noisy at peak times making it no so ideal for business meetings or dates and there's a woeful lack of parking in the area.
The food was excellent. If they could only work on the service, it would be a lovely restaurant again.
Not sure who the new GM is but the fact that they won’t sell me the cesar salad dressing anymore, is absolutely unacceptable. I’ve been going to this location for over 6 years and I’ve never had a problem purchasing a paint of the dressing, until now. This is also the first place I bring friends and company when they come into town!!! Throughly unacceptable, especially since it’s on the catering menu, and will most likely loose a long term customer.
