On the Thirty is a fun classy bar that deserves nothing short of a real human review. A.I. cannot quantify the price of a good time and speaking of prices their happy hour menu, food portions, and friendly staff made me stay long enough and enjoy the company to the degree of needing an uber. bravo On The Thirty.
Extremely disrespectful manger discriminates and is often sexist towards women which disgusts me. To have such deliberate disregard for me and my family disappointed me to the greatest degree. Despite how long I’ve come here each and every time I have been let down by these peoples management and strong lack of a proper moral compass. Do not come here unless u desire to feel out of place and disappointed.
Great food. Excellent service. Very friendly.
Happy hour is great! I’ve never been during dinner or been to the bar but I am more than pleased with my experience during happy hour eating in the restaurant. The frose ($10 for happy hour) is not super tasty but it is so strong (and the more you drink, the better it tastes ;)) that one drink is enough. I’ve had better truffle fries but not for $6!! $12 pizza was good too! I’m moving out of the area and I’m so sad I didn’t come sooner. Happy hour is worth it! The waitress was so cute and nice. The ONLY thing that I could say negatively is it took a min for me to get acknowledged to be seated but I don’t really care because everything made up for it! Best restaurant in Sherman oaks that I’ve had for sure
Just awesome!
I have been here over 30 times, this past time, one of the twin bartenders (who claimed she is the manager) denied me and my girlfriend (I am 23 and my girlfriend is 21) claiming our ID’s were “fake” and refused to scan the ID’s and refused to serve us.
Her reasoning for the ID’s being fake was utter bullshit (she has literally served me here before) and I will never be coming back to this establishment.
Get an ID scanner if you’re gonna deny people for having a real ID.
Came here on a whim - the restaurant was quite busy but im sure they could have taken two. However, the waitress told us due to the demand of the restaurant that they were closing earlier at 10 pm. And I asked about the hours, since it says on Google they closed at 11 pm. The waitress said it was already last call and wouldn't take anymore customers. I wouldn't say this restaurant is customer friendly.
I had excellent salmon and an excellent cocktail. The staff were all very nice as well.
I've experienced happy hour, dinner, and the sit-down bar at this place. The food is priced as you would expect for a location on Ventura Blvd; however, the taste and quality here surpass that of any other spot on the block. Granted, it is a tight and smaller location, but being situated on the hottest block of Ventura Blvd makes up for it. If it's your first time visiting, I would recommend going for happy hour—you'll find that the selection of food items is quite wide and tastes great. For a price perspective during dinner time: for two people, including two appetizers, one pizza, and two drinks each, the total comes to around $100.

Got food poisoning here, the $15 breakfast sandwich was a dry egg on some thin store bought bacon, girlfriend got the $18 meatball sub and it came out cold. You will be disappointed.

This has been one of my go to's in Sherman Oaks for years. The Karmas a blueberry b!$@h is on of my favorites. They have a good ahi tuna salad the crunchy peanuts are a nice blend with all of the ingredients. A lot of good appetizers to pick from. I need to try their brunch, it looks good.

I've been on the fence about leaving an honest review for this place for a few months, but held back because my favorite trivia host had a little trivia night here and I was giving the benefit of the doubt. The first time I'd ever been here was because of Charlie's trivia.
The owner of this establishment just canceled trivia night with no notice and hung up on our host when he inquired about why (which for me is enough of a reason not to give them your business based on the character of the people in charge) but here's my honest review.
I'll start with the positive: the food is good. Not blow your mind great, but I ate there every week and tried many items on the menu and almost all the options were solid, especially the truffle fries which are my favorite. That said, it's all overpriced for what you're getting.
Unfortunately, that's where the positives end. The service is abhorrent. Let me preface this by saying that I was a server and bartender for years myself and so while I'm empathetic to service industry workers, I can honestly say this is some of the worst service I've ever received and not because of being understaffed or slammed busy.
We always had one or two servers in the back room where trivia was hosted every night, and it was frequently difficult to place an order or get a check delivered without having to hunt someone down or ask. This week, we asked for a server twice and after 20 minutes my friend had to order at the bar. All the servers I've dealt with are apathetic, slow, and genuinely seem to not care about the customer or the job that they are doing.
So we've got decent but overpriced food, a rude owner, and atrocious service... when there are so many local businesses and great restaurants in Los Angeles, there's absolutely no reason to choose this one. I had never been before Charlie's trivia and I will never go again.

A very popular local spot much bigger than it looks from the street. Sundays are football games on all the screens and some good food. Breakfast pizza was a surprise.
