Hole in the wall with just a chill low key vibe. Not a bringing the whole family kinda joint. More like rolling up solo or 3 deep. That’s just my opinion.

Beef and lamb pita was tasteless. It lacked flavor and balance. The meat wasn’t of great quality either and wasn’t hot enough. A good amount of decent sauce could’ve fixed it probably but it wasn’t there, and overall it felt like a rip off for the price. Disappointed.

This place is my go to place. It is honestly priced and always pretty quick no more that 15 minutes. Worst part about this place is finding parking but fret not no one in Sherman Oaks knows how to drive so park wherever cause it’ll be quick

Thrilled they now have vegan meat. This was the vegan kabob plate and it was phenomenal! I ate one of the kabobs before taking a picture

When I walked in, the first thing I noticed was the beef and lamb shawarma sitting out, and I could immediately tell it was processed, pre-cooked frozen gyro meat. To be sure, I asked the cashier, and they confirmed it was frozen. That was enough for me to avoid ordering it altogether. They did say the chicken shawarma is homemade, so I decided to give that a try.
The chicken shawarma plate came with rice and two sides. Out of everything, the tabouli was the only item that actually felt fresh and homemade. The hummus, on the other hand, tasted bland and processed—nothing like a freshly made hummus should taste. The chicken itself didn’t carry that classic shawarma flavor; it was closer to plain grilled chicken with little seasoning. The rice wasn’t fresh either, and overall the plate felt like a letdown.
On top of the food being hit or miss, the kitchen and store looked dirty and outdated, which only made the experience worse. Between the processed frozen beef and lamb and the lackluster chicken, this isn’t a place I’d come back to.

Great food and service been going since 2006. However beware of parking they don't have much and it's a high traffic area I got into a car accident on 8/31/25 trying to leave.

So. Don't come here expecting Israeli style pita or lafa. The shawarma is tasty - lamb and beef. You have to ask for chips (upcharge) & they only give you like 5. The pita they give you for the hummus is the think pita. They don't even heat it up. It was ok but wouldn't go back. There is street parking. There are a few tables inside and a couple outside. Not so great for sitting and eating - better to just take out.

Pita Kitchen is such a gem in our community & our go-to for tasty & healthy food. We've gone here for many years & never leave disappointed. Both the food & customer service are on point. They offer delicious, hefty portions at an affordable price with excellent customer service. Their menu offers something for everyone--vegetarians, vegans & carnivores alike. The chicken schnitzel, falafel, Greek salad, hummus, baba ganoush, & rice are divine though you can't go wrong with anything else on the menu.

We have been coming here for years. The people working here are so nice and the friendliest. The food is really great, with large portions which we can appreciate because it feeds us and lets us have leftovers. I am picky about falafel and this one is good. Hummus is great too. We love the schwarma and the kabobs. The sides are all great too. We always order takeout but if you do want to eat here, its super super casual so dont expect anything fancy. Great food and the friendliest staff! The french fries are great thick fries
