Staff was incredibly helpful in dealing with a 3rd party delivery snafu (not at all their fault). Without hesitation was able to recreate the full order at no extra cost and even offered some of the iconic churro donuts as an apology (again, not necessary at all but the act and hospitality was very much appreciated). On service alone, I can’t wait to continue coming here…oh, and the food is amazing too.

Sugar taco has been our go to vegan Mexican spot for about 2 years. We’re not locals and visit the Valley from the Bay Area once/twice a year. While the food was still on point but we’redisappointed this time around because the service was pretty abysmal and the washroom was in a very bad state (an out of order sign could have helped).

Very pleasant atmosphere. It even has a cute play area for small children. All vegan food, very tasty and not expensive. Nice place to meet for lunch.
Kid-friendliness: Small play area with toys and books to keep kids busy while adults eat

This is a great place to take non-vegan for something good and familiar. I LOVE the pescado tacos. The vibe inside is fun and great for groups?
I’ve been to their location in Long Beach and this location in Sherman Oaks is just as good. I haven’t had a bad experience yet. The restaurant is colorfully decorated and the food is delicious. I got the 3 taco plate again which was very satisfying. I also tried their pumpkin spice horchata which was the perfect amount of sweetness. I highly recommend.
Very good and delicious
Amazing yummy mexican food and full of flavor! This is definitely a go to spot for me. I had the 3 tacos plate: 1 potato, 1 veggie, and 1 carne asada. Updated from previous review on 2023-10-29
We loved this vegan taco place. The tacos were excellent. The fish taco was my favorite.

Lots of different meatless options, for tacos I recommend the veggie or the carnitas (made from jackfruit). Good weekday deals for drinks and drinks +tacos. Cute place for apps and drinks with friends. Really good music too. If you are a sensitive tummy girlie like me, the food did give me a little inflammation. It might have been the salsa, which tasted like it had some beer in it or something.

Great experience coming in. The food is organic and vegan. Im happy they dont use beyond meat here, just pure vegetables and soy. I ordered the quesadilla and it was so good, it did taste like real cheese i loved it. Plus the service was amazing, very professional and polite. I definitely recommend this place.

Long time Vegan and Always searching for Amazing Vegan Food. I ordered the Gordo Nachos. Before leaving the restaurant I looked at my order. The Nachos appeared to Not have Queso. So I ask the young lady at the counter if they forgot the Queso. She told me that it should be underneath the meat and toppings. I get home, I begin to eat and I see no Queso. I look underneath all the topping and still nothing, Not even a taste of Queso. So now I’m very annoyed. The carne asada was ok, kinda dry and not very flavorful. I am extremely disappointed with Sugar Taco. Trying new places can be hit or miss and this was definitely a mistake. I would not recommend Sugar Taco. Oh and the churro donut was dry, definitely not worth $4.00 ?I really should have went to El Cocinero Restaurant on Sepulveda. El Concinero truly has the Best Vegan Mexican Food in the Valley. They are consistent with taste, flavor, and food presentation. Oh and they have Amazing Vegan Queso!

Sugar Taco was exactly what I've been looking for in the way of Mexican vegan food. Friendly staff, excellent loaded nachos! I live in Thousand Oaks and I would be happy to drive to Sugar Taco in the San Fernando valley anytime. They are worth it! It is a very cute, clean, bright and cheerful restaurant.
