UPDATE: knocking it down to 4 stars. After looking at my receipt, I see they put a 20% large party service charge on the bill without letting me know! We were not all seated together, all ordered at different times from the bar and I only had mine and one other person’s drinks on my tab. If you’re going to add this charge, you should at least let us know as I ended up tipping additional having no idea.Great spot! We had a group of about 10 on a Friday night after dinner and it was pretty busy but we were all able to find a place to sit after awhile. The drinks were really good, the bartenders are really nice and knowledgeable. It was raining so we didn’t get to see the patio but definitely plan on going back! We also ordered the spicy tots and I highly recommend!!!

Great "hidden" bar in the heart of Sherman Oaks with unique cocktails. I had one made out of beets... and it was delicious ??
Visited "The Attic" in "The Sherman". Verry Intimate/Private space with a Speak Easy Vibe. There is an inside area and an outdoor area. We had cocktails & and appetizers. Cocktails were excellent provided by friendly accommodating staff whom I would classify as mixologists rather than bartenders due to the extensive and detailed menu of cocktails available, many of which have been created by those same individuals.This is an experience not to be missed!

The Sherman is the kind of independent and charming restaurant that are like gems along Ventura Boulevard. We were a large group for lunch and service was excellent. So was the food. I had one of the best beet salads I’ve ever eaten (I added grilled chicken; highly recommend). Several at our table said the steak salads were equally excellent. The burgers were large and the garlic/lemon-tossed fries were tasty.

Cool place, but absurdly early closing hours, especially on the weekend. I have no idea why nice cocktail bars don’t want to stay open late anymore, but it’s annoying.
