I had some time to kill and noticed that the bar from “Halloween III: Season of the Witch” was right around the corner so I popped in. Had a good beer and was welcomed as a fan of the film by the bartender and several patrons who all encouraged me to come back at Halloween when actor Tom Atkins would be doing his annual Halloween appearance at the bar for “Drinks with Tom Atkins”. Apparently, several tour buses, bringing people to the bar as part of a Halloween movie site tour. Unfortunately, I won’t be around the area for Halloween, but it was great to stop by the bar amazing murals, Good beer and very friendly staff and patrons. He must visit place for horror, movie fans, but also a great place to get a drink in general. Check it out if you are in the area!

Shout out to the great bartenders - especially Ed - with the best old fashioned in town! But in addition they have good - and interesting - people there…A competitive digital jukebox and good prices on their drinks overall. A dive bar that’s got somethin for everyone. Best nights are Fri and Sat but Thu and Sun during football season isn’t too shabby either.

My favorite place to drink and chill in sierra madre. Vanessa is a sweetheart and everyone at the bar is super friendly. It’s never too dark, never too loud and always a good time. Heavy hands pour here and we love it!

What a fantasic dive bar, I really couldn't have asked for a better experience. The music by Dixie Reese band was excellent as well. Best bar in SoCal!

The Buccaneer is quite the spot, I’ve been going there on and off for well over 12 years but hadn't been there in a while. Now I know why they call it the Best Dive Bar in LA. The past few times I’ve gone recently, it seemed different, a little better, and the only thing I can attribute that to is the staff. They were great. They immediately made me feel welcome and comfortable. (Maybe they thought I was somebody else? Somebody famous? lol) Vanessa the bartender is awesome. She’s very fun and professional. The guy, Tom, I’m not sure if he’s security, a barback or manager, but whatever he is, he really keeps the place running. I lost my wallet there and got a Facebook message from him an hour later, letting me know he found it. He actually went out of his way to search for me and get it back to me. That's next level service. The atmosphere is fun. Although it’s a “dive bar” the staff seem to take great care in keeping it clean. It makes me realize that the only way to make a dive bar stand out above others is the staff. These guys seem like they really care about the place and the customers, which is rare these days. I’ll be going back more frequently now, and I’ll be bringing some friends. Let’s just hope I can get that strawberry lemonade Booshcraft I love the next time I’m in there.

The best little bar in town! Lots of locals and small in size. The Dogs we’re playing Saturday night, great band. Standing room only!
