The Buccaneer is quite the spot, I’ve been going there on and off for well over 12 years but hadn't been there in a while. Now I know why they call it the Best Dive Bar in LA. The past few times I’ve gone recently, it seemed different, a little better, and the only thing I can attribute that to is the staff. They were great. They immediately made me feel welcome and comfortable. (Maybe they thought I was somebody else? Somebody famous? lol) Vanessa the bartender is awesome....
So went out to find historic and cool lounges. The Buccaneer did not disappoint. Movies have been filmed here and from the outside it looks super old school and frankly, it is. Back patio is gorgeous and comfy. Parking right out front too!
We came to this place since it was in the Halloween 3 Season of the Witch film. We came here on a bus tour and also for an event called Drinks with Tom Atkins. Very cool bar and they celebrate their place in movie history! If you're in Sierra Madre, check this place out. We even got t-shirt souvenirs.
