Visiting Sierraville in July 2022, I never expected to discover amazing food there (being a very small town). I accidentally hit Farmhouse Cafe on July 4th, just looking for a beer and some nibbles. They were serving a special bbq dinner for the 4th of July. I had brisket and sausage; it was just amazing. On a scale of 1 to 10, *everything* was at least a 15. Been meaning to stop here on our trips between Sacramento and the Feather River country, and boy are we glad we did. Delicious prime rib dinner, and the owner came out to chat and thank us for stopping by. Who does that?!? The two servers were delightful and made us feel welcome.

We stopped here for breakfast on the way home to Reno after camping/hiking in the Sierra Buttes. I’m vegetarian, and we got incredibly generous service when the woman working made me a new breakfast sandwich without meat. Our coffees and pastries (apple fritter and cinnamon roll) were also very, very good. We even were able to buy a postcard of the mountains we had just hiked. Very cute spot.
