This is our #1 place for sushi. Love the cozy little atmosphere. Jake and Hana are amazing! They know our names, and the names of our kids, and always ask about them when we sneak in for date night sushi without the kids. Jake is always coming up with new rolls and lets us try them. They work very hard to make sure everyone is happy. Absolutely recommend!

The fish here did not taste and smell very fresh. For the price they are charging I'd expect much better quality. There are much better options for similar price down the hill. The service was okay, although the server we had did not speak much English and had a hard time answering our questions. She was friendly though. This place is a bit small, so you would be sitting quite close to other patrons.I will not return to this establishment in the future based on the quality and value of the food.

Went here for lunch. Took awhile to get our food. We get these lunch combinations all the time near home and the quality just seemed lower. The salmon was just ok nothing special. Ambiance group of women talking in the front, one came to give us a menu then went back to talking with friends it was odd. Then another women came later to get our order, it wasn't busy at all. Just our small group of 4, then 2 others who were sitting together at a table. I would have expected faster service. However I will say the price reflected the quality it was a cheaper meal as well, so that was fair.

I went in to Hana Sushi tonight and I’m so happy I did. The staff was extremely kind and the food was phenomenal.I eat sushi quite often but the experience felt very personal. Everything was fresh and really I cannot emphasize enough how nice the staff was. The price is insanely cheap for how amazing the quality is.If you are thinking of trying Hana Sushi please do!!!

Hana is still the best sushi in Simi Valley. They are generous with their portions and have the lowest prices. I love to sit at the sushi bar. Service is great!

Amazing sushi spot. The sushi is always fresh, great service. The sushi chef is so nice and always prepares a surprise roll for us. Never disappoints. One of the best sushi restaurants in the area

First and last time here. The reviews are amazing for this place but honestly, it's not great. One server for all tables so expect to wait 10-15 mins for service. Whether it's ordering drinks, food, or anything in between. We kept waiting to be served and every time we mentioned one thing she'd run off and eventually drop it off then We'd ask for the thing we meant to also order before they walked away and waited. Sashimi took 40 mins to receiveThe avocado in my roll was mushyThe scallops on the volcano roll were gross and full of oil We asked twice for our sake and got it half way into the mealWe did notice that people would come And everyone would yelled "omg nice to see you again" and the person greeted would catch them up on their life Meanwhile we're like omg just please give me water So honestly I think this place has great reviews because of their usuals but as a new customer, I'm not impressed

It was an ok. Overall, I wasn't a fan. However, I know that I am a sushi snob. The Hana Special did not taste that fresh. Or maybe it was the quality of the fish or the sauce I didn't like. The salmon crunch roll is a ton of rice and less fish. The blue fin was ok. My hot tea was served lukewarm and the tea had a musky taste. I will say that the toro was delicious. Our server was nice. I see the high ratings. Maybe this is for Simi Valley, as there may not be any better neighboring options.

The place is so cool and so delicious. It's a lot of food and it's a healthy food. Even if you eat it every day, you can happily eat it as a healthy meal. The boss is also kind. If you want to eat sushi

A friendly neighborhood kind of vibe exists at Hana Sushi. The staff and patrons tend to greet each other warmly, which is nice to observe. Dear Hubby and I were up for something light, and another nearby restaurant had a wait time, so we decided to give Hana Sushi a try. There was room available at the sushi bar right away. A variety of menu options include sushi rolls or hand rolls that you choose and mark on a paper menu. They also have laminated menus featuring kitchen items like gyoza, teriyaki, and more. To add temptation, they have one of their TV's playing a loop of gorgeous menu items displayed with great photography. The other two TV's above the sushi bar were dedicated to sports - the NBA playoffs and the Dodgers game. No sound, as there was enough going on in ambient conversations around the restaurant. Food wise, we ordered the cucumber salad to share, plus gyoza. I went for a crunch roll, plus tuna roll. Not super adventurous, but it was a large menu. I'd try other options next time. The ingredients were super fresh. I marvel at how thinly they were able to slice the cucumber!DH wanted something hot, so ordered the Beef Teri Don. Sadly, that was a fail. The beef was extremely dense, requiring chewing on it like gum for many minutes before it broke down enough to swallow. The opposite of tender. The sauce was good, and it came with lots of yummy rice, but the texture didn't work for me. That's the main reason for knocking off a star.Overall, nice cozy vibe, welcoming hard-working staff, solid sushi, and reasonable prices available at Hana Sushi.
