I went here for the first time with my wife and child for the first time after living in Simi valley for 2 years and we had a horrible experience. We usually go to the hikari in chatsworth ca and it’s a much more pleasant visit each time we go and the food is delicious. We were sat down and we ordered 2 bento boxes for my wife and we shared with our child who is only 4 years old and doesn’t eat a full plate to her self. I ordered the beef and chicken teriyaki. I usually order white meat for the chicken but mistakenly forgot to mention it. Upon receiving my food I began to eat and notice my dark meat chicken was not cooked properly with some pieces still raw. I also bit into a hard piece of chicken which could have been a bone and spit it out. I stopped eating the chicken and focused on the rest of the food. While the rest of the food seemed fine I was extremely disappointed with my chicken. I asked for the check and the waitress took my card and stood over me at the edge of the table. My bill came out to $58.00 and I chose the “no tip” option. The waitress then went on to exceed a cash tip and loudly shouted “ARE YOU PAYING CASH TIP?” My wife and I felt beyond embarrassed and walked out, the waitress then walked behind us to the exit almost trying to intimidate us. The last and final time I will come to this establishment. I tip based on my experience and food quality, it’s not mandatory and the owner should explain this to their employees.

The service was very attentive. Food was great and well curated. It's been a long time since I've experienced a restaurant with such fast turnaround on everything. Everyone was polite and they cleared used plates immediately, which tends to be a pain point at most sushi based restaurants. Will definitely be returning.

This place is good but very deceptive. They stopped AYCE because everything is 50% off (since covid. Which was awesome I would order same amount of food (as AYCE) and price was pretty close! But then the raised the prices (double) so now 50% off is basically regular price. Exp 11.99 roll is now 23.99. So you are paying the orginal price. I get it inflation but maybe foes up a couple $ not double.

Hikari is our absolute favorite sushi place in Simi. Actually it’s pretty much our favorite sushi place anywhere. They are always kind and consistent. The vibes in there are always good and we have never left a meal there feeling unsatisfied. We are always blown away by the quality of the rolls, everything is always fresh! They have so many fun rolls to try, and we will always go back there. We love Hikari!
We have been going to this place, once a week. Good food but service is horrible specifically the host/server Vivian (Asian Lady). She only greets and checks up on specific people with their needs. Most of the staff are nice but for some reason she is very rude to most customers. We asked her for other orders and never came. After coming here for years every week, not sure why she's the only one with this problem. She definitely needs some training on whatever the other staff are getting. Her manager needs to addressed this or else the business will have more bad reviews that can lead to losing more business.

Simi Valley is not your dining destination, except for this excellent sushi! Eat here often! Atmosphere is a normal American sushi bar but quality and creativity are above par.
Great sushi. Fish is very fresh and they serve generous portions. Sushi and rolls are half of right now.
