Stopped in for dinner one night and were so impressed we went back for breakfast the next morning. Everything was top notch. if you have not tried this place and enjoy great food and service go. On complaint our waitress on Monday morning October the 6th was so pleasant and recommended we try the cinnamon roll and we felt like it would be too much, Regretted that mistake.

First time here. We went for breakfast. The place is WILDLY unique! The decor is wild, literally like a garage / junkyard. The location is in a business park. The service was young but nice. The food came fast and was not super hot. It was just OK. Maybe lunch / dinner / bar is the better option here? We would not rush back.

MONDAY FOOD REVIEW...THE JUNKYARD (again)...8/11/25! After collecting everything at the fair, we decided to go to The Junkyard, located at 2585 Cochran St,. Simi Valley, CA, for a late lunch. I had my favorite on their extensive menu, Just Clam Up, which is linguini and clams. The clams are sautéed in wine, olive oil, garlic, and spices, and served over linguini with a clear sauce, and focaccia bread. They put at least 2 dozen clams in this, and it's just DELICIOUS!!!! If you're looking for a GREAT restaurant with an extra extensive menu, definitely come here!!!!

Had dinner here on a Saturday night, and ordered the prime rib special. I found it to be flavorful but tough. The garlic potatoes were very good. Our server was very helpful to my vegan son's needs. Not the place to go on a first date though. So noisy that my son and I could hardly hear eachother.

We frequent Junkyard Cafe for its wonderful, eclectic menu and delightful spirits. Their motto —and mantra, essentially— is written right on the sign out front: “Lighten Up, Life is Short”
Of course the food is fabulous, but one cannot discuss this iconic place without first discussing the decor. You’ve heard teachers and parents say ‘you just have to throw everything at the wall with these kids and see what sticks’ Well, at this restaurant, that’s just what they did. The walls, ceiling, courtyard, and interior is a wonderful study in zany, fun, decor. You are greeted by all kinds of stuff. Even the Oxford English dictionary isn’t long enough to describe everything.
If you’re here for breakfast, congratulations, you have lots of choices, but they should all begin with a Bloody Mary, and this place has the best. Next, enjoy cinnamon French toast, my favorite, with eggs and bacon and get ready to take some home because it’s an enormous portion. They of course have many other breakfast choices as well.
For lunch, you cannot go wrong with their wonderful big buxom burgers, and don’t forget this is not just the only place in town but perhaps the only place in the world where you can get a peanut butter coleslaw burger! Don’t knock it till you’ve tried it!
The menu is so extensive and we have tried so many items. If you cannot decide what to order, just get the sampler plate.
This review will end up being the size War and Peace by the time I’m done, so let me cut to the chase: this is the most fun restaurant you could possibly go to, it’s great for the kids, and it is fully wheelchair accessible.

It's been years since I've been here, but I was pleasantly surprised by the improvement of the food. The menu definitely takes some figuring out and the decor... well, it's in the name. But I'll absolutely be back.

The food is exactly what you’d hope for but the real highlight is the quirky, eclectic decor that gives the place so much character. From the moment you walk in, you're surrounded by a mix of vintage, rustic, and downright funky design elements that make it feel like a hidden gem.
One of the coolest details is the hand-drawn menu, which is a fun experience just to look at. There's many options to choose from burgers to sandwiches to salads. Cool place to come and visit.
