We love Reds. As someone who is very particular about bbq. I am never disappointed with the way they serve the food. Tonight we had a combo plate, tri tip and beef ribs. The tri tip was cooked to a perfect medium rare and the beef ribs were exceptional which is not easy for a restaurant to achieve. This restaurant is celebrating their 31st year in business. If I could offer some advice I would say it is time to freshen up a bit. Carpet and a lighter color paint would help.

Great spot but heads up your Mac n cheese taste like planters peanuts it's has the cheesy part down the noodles are perfect but whatever flavor you're throwing in it taste like peanuts that's new and baffling to me my daughter is 2 years old and can't eat it lol. Outside of that great joint

My folks who are two elderly people who live at Varenita, a home over on Cochran, LOVE Red’s, especially for the $11 lunch.

Red's has great food, especially the very low priced very properly cooked, very large burgers!

But don’t listen to me remember, this is a barbecue joint so enjoy their wonderful barbecue chicken, barbecue beef, tri-tip, and other great items and their wonderful garlic rolls.

Red’s has been a staple of Simi Valley for a long time, and it is easy to see why: the food is great. Their service is great and there’s never a long wait.

We ate here for dinner tonight. The highlight was our server, Christopher, who kept our drinks full and checked on us just the right number of times. Our orders came out quickly too. The dinner rolls were good, rave reviews from my teenager. We ordered a Western burger, Walnut pesto rigatoni, Chicken Caesar Salad, and the Tri-Tip Thursday special. The burger and salad had good reports. The rigatoni came out under salted, so it tasted like it just wasn't quite finished. The Tri-Tip was like that, too -- under salted and actually, somewhat over temp, but under cooked. I ordered it medium and there were some parts that were medium, but most were closer to medium well, but it also had hardly any color at all--no real sear. The only seasoning was the BBQ sauce that drenched it. I ate it all, so I give 3 stars instead of two, especially since I. Didn't complain in the restaurant.

So, overall, decent food that needs more attention; maybe steer clear of the tri-tip. There were some tables with Ribs that looked pretty good. I wouldn't be surprised if those are a better choice.

Overall, the food is pretty delicious! It’s a little bit pricey, but worth it. The service is pretty good. The atmosphere is OK.

Blake was my server, and was helpful guiding me through the menu. Super polite and friendly. I came in during the tail end of the lunch rush and was able to receive my meal fairly quickly. The ribs were killer, mashed potatoes creamy, and coleslaw was nice and refreshing. The owner even stopped by, pre-bussed my plate and asked how everything was. I used to eat here as a kid 15 years ago before I moved to Utah and it seems like nothing has changed. It’s the same great Red’s BBQ as I remember.

Staff is very nice but the food is mediocre. I went in there today with my teenage son and a friend. I and the freind ordered the tri tip medium and we got a big piece of dry overcooked tri tip unable to even cut,. It was changed by the weitres, the mashed potato were cold and worst than the boxed per-cooked ones from the grocery store. My son burger was dry and with half lattuce thrown inside. I used to like Reds and order for all my parties, haven't been in a few years since they were temporarily closed and I will not go back after today's experience. Just so disappointed! What happened with this restaurant?

Ok, I went for the pasta. The pesto penned is an enormous portion and very green, no little pass over with a few basil leaves. I loved it, and it can feed three.

Andrew our server was adorable.

Oh, if you don't want to inhale the puffy warm garlic bombs, just make sure they don't come to the table.
