I would consider myself a regular, I go here a few times a week. The food is choice is extensive and when you walk in if you should see some cakes in the desert display, do take the time, they are baked by the owner, don't pass up! The atmosphere is charming, the staff are as warm and friendly as they come, very nice group. In short, a nice place for good home confront food.
We have been here several times and always had good food and service. This most recent visit was a big disappointment. They were not busy, but the service was very poor. The waitress essentially disappeared. We ordered the "extra thick" milkshakes. We were not happy. They were so runny. You get thicker milkshakes at McDonalds. When we finally found the waitress so that we could bring it to her attention, she did not seem to care.
Old Susana Cafe is a wonderful restaurant to eat at. multiple times per week! The staff is always so friendly and knows me and my son by name. They bring our drinks as soon as we sit down at a table. No matter what you eat you will be pleased. I have had all of their salads (todays was the spinach salad!). I enjoy their breakfasts on the weekends especially their bacon and eggs with pancakes! If you are looking for a small town feel Old Susana is the place to go!
I’ve lived in Simi Valley for just over two years and this restaurant has become a favorite of mine and my family’s during that time. We started going sporadically and now go almost every Sunday after the service at The Church at Rocky Peak. The staff have started to recognize us and we always get great food and service. There are very few good restaurants left that have a history and aren’t huge chains. This is a treasure worth keeping and the enjoying. If you haven’t had lunch or breakfast there, I highly recommend you check it out!
My son and I like to have breakfast before hiking in Corriganville. The waitresses ( especially Marie) make us feel like family. I think the Corned Beef hash and eggs over easy breakfast is the best in California. Hoppy, Gene, and Roy would feel at home here!!
This is a great place to eat. It is cafe's of the past. Large servings of good food. It has inside and putside eating. If you choose outside you can bring your dog, we have a few times. I highly reccommend this place to anyone. Enjoy Thanks Terry
My friends and i stopped by for breakfast. Food was fabulous i had the Wagonwheel. The bacon was amazing. Service was wonderful. Cute patio!
Nice and simple and homely. Just what you need for breakfast after an early start and a long drive. It is basic but really relaxed and friendly. A good hearty breakfast with as much coffee as you can drink. An easy to find place on the eastern entry to the town. Great food - great prices - great service!
Very friendly staff, great food, and interesting historic photos to study. It's always a pleasure to eat there, and take our time - no rush! There are so many breakfast items on the menu, you simply cannot go wrong with any selection.
I must admit that I first come here because I had a discount coupon. What a nice surprise !We all had different orders and all our dishes were delicious. Belgium waffles are great. French toast ,fantastic. Also enjoy looking at the pictures on their walls. They are of the movie ranch Corriganville. This was once just next door to this diner. I remember going to this ranch when I was a kid. Brings back many memories.

This is a simple restaurant with mostly simple fare. The tables and chairs are comfortable, but spartan, nothing “homey”.This small restaurant is clean and well lit, which it needs. They have outdoor seating but I ate inside. The service was fast and friendly and I enjoyed talking with my server. I’ve eaten here twice, in the afternoon, and both times the food was good but not great. From other reviews I think that breakfast is the time for the best food. They say they serve breakfast lunch and dinner, but last Saturday when I went, they closed at 5 PM! Could this be belt tightening? Next time I go it will be for breakfast. I’ll get back to you on that.
This restaurant is a favorite meeting place of my retired friends and myself. We get together there monthly for a leisurely breakfast and to catch up. When the weather is temperate, we eat outside on their patio. All in all, a pleasurable experience.
Really great and easy place for breakfast on the weekends. Have been loving the Belgian waffles w/ fresh fruit on top. Perfect combo of soft and crunchy with the natural sweetness of the fresh fruit.
While on our way through Simi Valley, we remembered this little place in southeast Simi was is really low key and pleasant, and we stopped again at the Old Susanna Cafe. Quickly we were seated at an outdoor table on the patio. It was a perfect day and the shade covered us well. The service was prompt and the menu was vast. We both chose sandwiches, one egg salad and one tuna melt. Both were served with potato salad and green side salads. The food was very good, but the relaxed environment topped all. Perfect place for a meal, pretty much at any time of day.
Having never been to simi valley be4, but heading to the reagan museum (a most do), we stopped on a friday morn. A bit out of the way in a residential neighborhood but we sat on the nice patio and I had a delicious pastrami rueben. I warned the waitress that I know good pastrami and this was it tho they could have put a bit more on my sandwich. Delicious. And my dear enjoyed his huge pancakes which we have leftovers of. Not a fan of skinny fries but good with vinegar. Good variety too.
