This is by far the best sushi around here. There is nothing else nearby that even comes close. The chef is amazing.

Took me 5 months to get a reservation here with Covid but I finally got to try the famous sushi master Tanaka san who is recommended by my favorite sushi chef yoji san so this was exciting! Be patient is all because it's just the chef, no staff and please don't expect sushi rolls covered in sauce and mayonnaise ! I recommend the omakase and it's cheap compared to other top sushi spots! $120 per person vs $300 at asanebo! Will return if I can get another reservation

I basically don't even have the words to adequately describe how amazing this place was. It took 3 months to get in a reservation but it was more than worth it!!! Every single bite was amazing and the flavors just built on each-other beautifully!! Each time we thought that bite was the most delicious we've ever had, the chef made something even better! It was an experience in itself and one I can only hope to experience again!

This place has delicious Omasake but it is very pricey and they only take cash further it's very difficult to make a reservation. If you can get past those few hang ups, it's a very special and intimate experience.

This place is AMAZING! We are from the westside and our favorites are usually sasabune or echigo and this place is now on our list of faves. Totally worth the drive... if you can get a reservation.

I was so impressed and happy about this restaurant and experience! I booked on Instagram in May and waited two months for my reservation so it was highly anticipated. I was so impressed with the quality of the fish that the chef served, everything was so smooth, not fishy tasting whatsoever and so delicious!! He served us octopus nigiri, I usually would never order octopus at a restaurant or sushi restaurant but that piece of octopus was probably the best octopus I've ever tried, not chewy at all, and so smooth tasting. My favorite also was the blue fin toro, scallop, oyster and beef tartare. There were also a bunch of other fish served and there was fish that I've never heard of that he served us, but still so delicious! My friend that came with me had never tried most of the fish that was served and she was so impressed with everything as well. This is not for someone who is a picky eater and you have to put your trust in the chef. It is cash only and pretty expensive so I am not sure when I will make another reservation because this is definitely not a weekly type of sushi place because of the price but definitely a treat when I want to splurge. This is definitely an authentic experience and the chef stated that all his fish is shipped from Japan, so this is so amazing to have this experience in Simi Valley. The chef was so professional and nice and explained all the sushi we were eating, it was also super intimate since it was just me and my friend and then 3 other people in the restaurant at the bar. This is recommended for a special night out or date night. I am still craving every single bite of food I had and I was full at the end of the meal. Highly recommended, I will be coming back!

Sushi Tanaka In simi valley. Me and my bf wanted to eat before we went to a movie then I found this place on yelp. But apparently it's reservation only through Instagram. So I found the ig and messaged sei the owner and booked two months in advance cause it was the only date that was available. So be sure to plan ahead It's an omakase and it's just the sushi chef by himself he's from Japan. It was 120 each I took my dad. And the food was melt in your mouth delicious. It was 14 courses and it was all sushi from Japan so fresh and worth every single penny. Thank you so much and I can't wait to come back. My dads bringing my mom on their anniversary and I know she'll absolutely love this place.
