Whenever I visit Simi I HAVE to come get my pastrami dip here. In my opinion, the best on the planet. This time I had the chili cheese fries. My grandson told me to try them. One word. HUGE! Also, very good!
The Hat in Simi Valley is an absolute gem! This classic spot at 1308 E. Los Angeles Ave has been delivering that old-school, hearty American comfort food vibe since the chain started back in 1951, and the Simi location nails it every time.
I went for the **world-famous pastrami dip**—piled high with tender, juicy pastrami on a soft roll, dipped in rich au jus—and it did not disappoint. The meat was perfectly seasoned, not too fatty, and the bread held up...

I don't know where else to submit some feedback so I'll do it here.
The double cheeseburger needs a renovation. The meat was kinda dry, the bread slightly stale and not doing a good job of holding things together. Clumps of lettuce kept falling out. There was a watery mess spilling out of the bottom, from the tomato and sauce. The chopped lettuce defeats the purpose of having lettuce on the bottom. It tasted okay, but it doesn't do a good job of staying...
