We stopped here on a whim from out of town and it ended up being one of my favorite all time Mexican food experiences. The food was delicious and the service was top notch.

Great HH deal at the bar, icy cold XX, friendly on point service…what else could you ask for?

Very authentic Mexican restaurant, huge plates and speedy service. They have great margaritas. My only negative thing is that it could just use some updating and refreshing. They have a ton of space, both inside and multiple patios. Awesome for a large group or just lunch with friends.

Been going here for 45 years. Crab burrito hands down unique and so tasty.

I had so looked forward to dining at what I had heard was an authentic Mexican meal.
Fidel’s Solana Beach fell short.
Ambiance outdoors a bit dismal, food mediocre and service left much to be desired! Such a bummer.

Might be the worst salsa I’ve ever tasted in my life. Tasted like marinara sauce. The tomatillo salsa is great. Service was above average but nothing special.

Fidel's landmark has been around since early 60's.
Has happy hour 5 days a week in the bar upstairs.
I've never missed a chance to eat there growing up.
The food, the staff and the atmosphere is wonderful. I love sitting outside on the patio with a margarita and a combination plate.
It's remained unchanged and true to its Mexican culture and the staff are all passionate about delivering a quality Mexican meal at a fair price and wonderful service.
Thank you Fidel's for remaining true to your culture.

I'm from WA state, where there used to be a Fidel's.
It was so nice to enjoy their atmosphere again!

A friend of mine thinks Fidel's is "coasting". I tend to think that Fidel's has nailed comfort food. They make what I want, and it's consistently good...for the 30 years that I've lived in San Diego.

Plus: cheesy chips (need I say more?)

Recommended dishes: Chips and Salsa, Guacamole, Refried Beans, Burrito

It's Fidel's. It's been there forever and it's just as good as it was 30 years ago when I first visited. Very nice outdoor seating as well.
