Service was superb in every way. Terry never wrote down an order for our table of five and got it perfectly! Everyone's favorite was the lamb lollipops. Soo tender and savory. The executive board was so flavorful and beyond tender. A terrific meal and celebration. Noise was a bit loud for us. But it tapered off.
We got to the restaurant and there was a hold on the table because of the previous party but they were really helpful and willing to get us seated at our reservation time. I will definitely be back!
This is the very best restaurant in all of San Diego County! If you chose to dine here, you will be treated with the finest service and served the most delicious food. Our experience at Rare Society was among the very best dining experiences of our lives.
Delicious steak dinner with all the yummy choices from start to finish. Beautifully decorated for the holidays. Excellent, friendly server.
We had a great celebratory dinner at Rare Society. I feel at places like this you need to know what to order, meaning if set on a great steak, don't waste your time on appetizers. The steaks were amazing. Our waitress gave us a perfect recommendation for the wine too. Finishes dinner with a fantastic creme brûlée.
One of the best meals we've ever had anywhere ever, everyone at the table agreed. Meat was delicious but all the sides we tried were outstanding.
Best steak house in san diego i've had so far! service was impeccable and very well informed. will be returning!
We had a wonderful experience thanks to our server, Moriah. From the moment she greeted us, she went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. Our original table wasn't the best, and even though the hostess wasn't able to move us, Moriah stepped in right away and found us a much better spot without hesitation. Her attention to detail, warm personality, and genuine care made our night so much more enjoyable. Restaurants need more people like her! We'll definitely be back—and asking for Moriah again.
Hostess was welcoming, wishing us a happy anniversary, presenting us with a card signed by the whole staff. Server Luke was on point with his hospitality and wealth of knowledge regarding the whole menu including the cocktails. We sat outside which they kept at a perfect temperature. The food was simply delicious and satisfying. A relaxed upscale experience without the pretentiousness. A fabulous evening all around.
Thoroughly enjoyed the flavors of all we ordered. Service was very good. My reason for the lower value rating is 2-fold. 1: we ordered Mac &Chz and were offered the opportunity to add lobster to it, which we did. Normally it comes as +$26 add on to the mashed potato side and includes an au gratin sauce. When we got our order the lobster was VERY light - felt like no more than 2oz, if that.... And the add on charge was upped to +$30 for some reason. This was not shared when ordering. 2: we were there for a birthday and the server advised they had a “little something “ for us to recognize it. We explained that we were stuffed and really not dessert people and didn't want to waste it, but were told “it's not big, just a little something” ... so we conceded. It turned out to be a scoop of ice cream which ended up being added to the bill - +$6. So basically, - the lobster was severely lacking and they up-charged another $4 on the original up charge - charged us for a dessert we didn't ask for & they chose for us. In the grand scheme of things, $10 of charges we didn't expect on top of a $450 check isn't much.... But it dampened our overall experience. Normally I would have said something at the restaurant, but was asked not to by the birthday guest.

Service was outstanding. Steaks were good. Nothing special. Definitely better places in San Diego for steaks.
We were there to celebrate a birthday and had an excellent experience... food was delicious and our was amazing! Only negative would be that we sat at the high top table near the bar where it was very loud so it made it difficult to hear.
Enjoyed our time there. The steak was very good. We also had the fried chicken but it was underwhelming, there was too much breading and it was over cooked, which made it dry.
Fabulous atmosphere for someone looking for a happening spot for drinks and excellent food. Their meats are top quality from snake river. Some uniquely prepared dishes all wee prepared. Service was terrific. We'll worth the visit.

We came in on a Friday night before a Belly Up show and even found easy street parking (a rare win!). From start to finish, the dinner was an absolute delight. We started with oysters ... both the Oregon and Baja ... and they were incredibly fresh and flavorful. Champagne, an Old Fashioned, and a vodka soda rounded things out perfectly. Do *not* skip the Parker House rolls... they're an essential. My date is pescatarian, and there were tons of great options. The ahi tuna, tuna crudo, artichoke, and salad were all light, fresh, and delicious. Everything felt thoughtfully prepared and beautifully balanced. Service was amazing: warm, attentive, and never rushed. It started raining toward the end and we got dripped on a bit, but honestly it didn't take away from the experience ... just part of the charm of the night. Overall, consistently one of our go-to places. Highly recommend for a relaxed but elevated dinner before a show or anytime you want reliably great food and service.
