It was not crowded the night we went so it was very quiet. Piano player at the bar - very good, nice voice, picked good dinner music. I loved having live music in the other room, makes the ambiance lively, but you can still hear people at your table. Food was very good, very good quality, large amount, cooked perfectly. I had the king crab legs which had a lot of meat, was sweet, and juicy. We always start with the specialty salad - always my favorite. I did feel like the proportions...
Our serger was great and attentive. Both of our filets were not great. The cut was not good and was not the quality of a normal filet. The ribeye was really Fatty in the middle. The prime rib bites were excellent and had great flavor. The steaks were all around disappointing
Good food, big portions and good service are standard at this Del Mar landmark restaurant. The decor is unchanged for all the years we've gone there and probably from the day it opened. It's a step back in time to an old fashioned steakhouse. Very enjoyable.
