I wasn't impressed the guy that helped us was nice, the restaurant wasn't clean and the food came to us with low Presentation value and looked sloppy like it was thrown together and dropped in front of us.

Rubio's is always amazing. Very taco shop like, not greatest atmosphere for gorgeous sitting but great if you are expecting a taco shop!
Kid-friendliness: Outdoor seating is good for kids and indoor isn't bad, either. Not a ton of seating indoors but I've taken my family here a couple times.

Stopped by on my way through the area last Sunday evening for something to eat (not my choice but a guests choice).Opted for the three street beef taco combo (I know, it's a fish place but I never liked Rubios breading/salsa mix, weird aftertaste). The place looked pretty run down, odd distribution of tables and space. The employees looked bored and unenthusiastic. The restaurant was empty other than some teens screaming and cursing in a corner. We placed our orders and waited for our food. Salsa bar was not clean, even though thr place was relatively empty and there were at least 3 employees plus on in the back cooking.I almost fell over laughing when our food arrived. We order a regular shrimp burrito, my 3 taco platter and 3 drinks for $32 and change with tip. The guest said the burrito was good. My platter was a joke. The tortillas were over cooked and hard. There must have been at most 2 spoonfuls of meat (and I'm being generous) on the tortillas, a 2-3 ounce serving of beans and maybe 8-10 Tortilla chips. The tacos were pretty much inedible but I was hungry.I've never been a fan of Rubios, this confirms the reason why I never visit and of their locations. Bad food, tiny portions, overinflated prices, and mediocre atmosphere /employees. Save yourself the trip and find another place to eat fish or any other kind of taco, etc.

I ordered 3 items to go and all three came out wrong. Ordered kids chicken taquitos and got a chicken taco on a corn tortilla. Asked for no beans on one burrito and no cream sauce on the other and neither came out right. While I was waiting I heard people at the other tables murmuring about their food coming out wrong. I always have a much better experience with the Del Mar Heights location.

Odd experience. We ordered food but 60 min later we still hadn't received it. Something going on in the kitchen, drama of some sort, but the manager found out we hadn't received our food and felt awful about it. Mistakes happen, but this place made up for it. They fully refunded our meal and still fed us delicious food. Thanks Rubio's for making things right.

Just a weird Rubio's. Everything seemed odd. Got chicken tacos, no chicken. Ordered shrimp tacos, got fried fish. Portions small, cost is up. Go elsewhere, better food, better service, just better than here.

I have only ever had the fish taco especial here ..every time I am in the San Diego area I find a Rubios and enjoy this.. it hasn’t changed much in 30 + years.. this solana beach location was close to 101 but not too much noise.. friendly staff.. sitting area outside a bit ordinary .. a few more colorful plants would go a long way .. but good fish tacos

Probably one of the best local secrets in San Diego. Rubio’s serves a fantastic burrito, has a great salsa bar, and solid service (that cares enough to walk around and ask how your meal was).

Beat fast food out there, healthy options. Good quality products
We were there with our family, three teenagers. This place was walking distance from the hotel. A huge hit, the kids got tacos and fresh food, Dad got a reasonable bill and a really cold beer....both of which Dad needed!
