We love coming here. We always make reservations to ensure seating because this is a popular place. Yesterday was busier than normal. There was a large group there and our table was squished next to the bar and in the sun. Was a little noisy and crowded but food and service is always great. This is the first time we experienced the noise and crowd, but yesterday was a gorgeous day. This may not be the best place to host large groups because space is limited here.

This was my second time eating at Rustic Root. This time we had dinner. The atmosphere was lovely, and I'd say it was about 75% full. The food was just okay; not bad, but not something that we would rush back to (except dessert, which was delicious). The biggest miss was the service. It was really bad from the start. The hostesses had their backs turned to the front desk when we arrived, and were talking to each other and on their phones. We had to interrupt them to say we were here. After we sat down, we had our water poured quickly, but then it took about 15 minutes for our server to acknowledge us. Our server took our drink order, which took another 10 minutes to arrive. Our entrees came fairly quickly; however, once the entrees arrived, we never saw/heard from our server again until our check. Overall, not a great experience, and unfortunately, we probably won't be back.

First time to Rustic Root and will definitely be back! We came for post Valentine's Day brunch and highly recommend the French toast bites and maple cloud cakes for the sweet tooth and the Virginia Ham Benny for the savory side. We went with mimosas as well look forward to trying the mimosa trays on our next visit. The atmosphere is spot on with the indoor/outdoor vibe you'd expect on the coast.

Hostess was clueless, got there a bit early. Sat outside grabbed a well made and strong cocktail, which sat literally next to the hostess and checked in half an hour closer to my reservation and she said I sent you a text saying the table was ready. No text received. Then we get seated only to be told the kitchen is taking last call for food. Mind you it's 8:30 pm on Valentines Day. Didn't ruin our night but it was all pretty lame.

We really enjoy Rustic Root whether it is just going for Happy Hour and appetizers or a complete dinner. The service is always good and we were celebrating my husband's birthday so the ice cream with selected toppings with a candle was a treat. Our favorite appetizers are the meatballs, crab cake and Brussels sprouts. We also like their salads and pastas. Thursday night is live music night and we prefer to sit outside where it is a bit quieter.
I had the best time at Rustic Root! The Happy Hour was absolutely worth it. great atmosphere, amazing deals, and such a fun vibe. The highlight of my experience was the wonderful hostess, Gai Partin. She went above and beyond by recommending some fantastic menu items and even giving us a tour of the entire restaurant. She truly set the tone for such a warm and welcoming experience. I can’t wait to come back!

I forced myself to order something different other than the usual favorites I order for dinner. Glad I did. The Lobster Pappardelle was great and is now a new favorite.

Our reservation was at 4:00 PM. Please note that at this time only the happy hour menu is available, not the full dinner menu. The service could have been more welcoming. Although the server asked if it was our first visit — which it was — no recommendations or guidance about the menu options were offered. Additionally, the restrooms are not located inside the restaurant but around the corner, and unfortunately both were in poor condition during our visit. I ultimately chose to leave the premises to make a purchase at Morning Lavender so I could use their restroom instead.
