As Danish as Olive Garden is Italian.
Which is to say, not at all. Though in Olive Garden’s defense, they at least pretend to season their food. This place? It’s like someone once Googled “Danish sandwich” during a Wi-Fi outage, then assembled the meal from whatever they found in the motel minibar when they shot Sideways here.
I ordered the “open-face sandwich plate,” and I use the word sandwich as loosely as calling a flip-flop a shoe with cheese on it. What I got was dry, lifeless, and somehow managed to taste like cardboard seasoned with despair. I’ve had more authentic Danish food at IKEA. And yes, I mean the cafeteria. At least there, the horse meatballs are trying.
Honestly, you’d get a better Danish sandwich anywhere in Denmark. The airport. A three-day-old pre-wrapped one in a gas station. Even the vending machine next to baggage claim is serving more cultural accuracy.
Avoid this place like the plague. Actually, scratch that. During the plague, at least people brought you soup.
To be fair, the staff were lovely. But let’s be honest. What choice do they have? They know they’re serving culinary war crimes in the name of Denmark and are going straight to The Hague.
I tried Ableskiver for the very first time. It's like small pancakes but it was very warm and güey. I loved it. And I would love to try again. They also have a sit down restaurant.
I had the Aebleskiver with 2 scoops of vanilla ice cream. One of the best desserts I have ever had. Not too sweet, just fluffy yummy goodness. 😋

Only ordered aebelskiver and sausage but man...they paired well together!! Delicious ??
This place is a mainstay. The service and food were very well prepared and social distancing of tables was good. We were a party of six and all ordered different items and were pleased with out dishes. Nice touches of northern Europe.
Great place
3.5 stars. Visiting town for part of the day and it was lovely but cold. Amazing look of a Danish village. More Danish bakeries than thought possible for a small town. Abelskivers are big here-like a Danish pancake ball-and this place is famous for them. Unfortunately dining outside only with no heaters on this chilly morning. Order taken at front door table with Covid dining restrictions. 3 large skivers with Raspberry jam and powdered sugar is the menu item everyone gets. Much larger here than previously had. But light and fluffy and piping hot. Great combo with the jam. Chose to add an order-1 link-of Danish sausage also. Very bland and not worth the money IMO. Sweet folks and pretty good eats. Worth a try if you visit here.
I eat here for breakfast whenever I am in Solvang. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is the lack of outdoor seating during COVID. Wife and I ordered our favorite Danish Omelette with Medisterpolse and a side of aebleskivers. This place is always consistent. Can't wait to go back after COVID is over.

My kids loved this dish more than me. It was ok.
Yummy raspberry jam with the pancake. It’s a little sweet with the jam so for me it’s desert rather than a breakfast food. It’s a must try when in Solvang.
Aebleskiver is Wonderful! First time trying it and we both loved it. My husband enjoyed his ham and cheese omelette. I ordered eggs Benedict with ham and hash browns. The sauce could have been more flavorful—it was bland. Service is wonderful!
Great little Danish/Scandinavian restaurant. Their donut Aebelskevers with Raspberry jam and powdered sugar with a side of icecream was to die for. This is trully a great little spot.
Was in the area on a business trip about a month ago and stopped in here for lunch just bc it looked cute and I especially wanted to try the Aebleskiver! At the time, they had just started allowing inside seating at reduced capacity. There was no waiting - it was pretty empty. Plenty of social distancing and all wore masks unless they were eating. The staff were all super nice and welcoming too! Very attentive! The atmosphere is very cozy. I ordered the tuna melt...comes with fries. It was really good - huge too! I also ordered some Aebleskiver to-go for later. Their aebleskiver are massive! I didn’t expect them to be so large wow! They’re served with a side of raspberry jam and it’s really nice! The aebleskiver are interesting - they’re good but a little too doughy for me - not sure if they’re all like that since these are the only ones I’ve tried. Overall I had a nice lunch - great sandwich and fries and such lovely service so I’d come back. The prices are a little steep for what it is imo but competitive with the area bc it’s a very touristy town.
