We were in Solvang for Spring break and little did we expect many restaurants were closed for Easter Sunday dinner. We had Easter Sunday buffet for lunch and therefore did not make reservation for dinner, expecting to eat light. By dinner time, we were nervous to find out that Japanese Ramen, Italian pizza spots were all closed. We came across this little restaurant and after saying we had no reservation, we were able to seat in the back room (like covered patio). The 3 families of 6 adults and 5 kids actually had a good time, enjoying a great meal at this place, with the room all to ourselves. Food was unexpectedly tasty. Several of us ordered Danish dishes and they were good. I ordered the Monte Cristo sandwich that I have not had in years. No complaints, just compliments. Service was okay, not great (I strongly believe that for big parties, when restaurants charge 20% tip regardless, service may be subpar no matter what). In our case we did not care, we had a good family gathering time. I would recommend this restaurant for very tasty food and if you were seated in main restaurant part, you may get better service.

We went to two restaurants in Solvang on the same night, and this was definitely the better choice the other place we had a meatball and sausage, and here we decided to opt for roasted pork, stuffed with prunes and it did not disappoint. The cabbage and the pickled cucumber was better here, and it also came with some applesauce, and gave you a choice of them, gave you a choice of different kinds of potatoes. We chose the roasted, and they were great. The price was about the same. This is a couple of dollars but worth it, and the atmosphere was nicer.

While in Solvang, I made a decision to get a little authentic. A bit of Denmark had the normal exterior of Solvang. The interior was clean and welcoming. For an appetizer I had the herring which was in a curry, onion and caper and tomato sauce. It was interesting but very pleasing and mild. I would recommend this dish I believe I have included a photo of the appetizer it comes in three bowls. For the main course I had an open face roast beef sandwich. With horse radish and potato salad. I was most impressed by the roast beef and the horseradish it was mild enough but really brought out the flavors. All in all a very good experience.Parking: It is a tourist town you know the deal not bad parking but you just have to plan a bit. Get your walking shoes on and have at it

Sat down for an early dinner after a long day walking around Solvang. This place opens at noon but the town gets really quiet after 8pm. Starting off my night with an 805 and a hot cup of soup. It's still a bit chilly up here late March, so it feels good to eat hot soup. The staff was very nice and our starting meal was already setting a good tone for the night. Oh man the main meal was salmon for me and pasta for my wife. The portions were just right to have an appetizer and still enjoying the main meal. This helps since leftovers wasn't ideal for our room stay. So best we finished it all. Not over cooked or over powered in flavors. I'd definitely recommend this spot for a nice sit down quieter meal in town. Parking was a breeze a large free public lot is directly across the street. There's two ChargePoint EV chargers in the lot. We took full advantage and topped off our tesla during dinner.

The food was very tasty and presentation very appetizing. The host was very attentive and knowledgeable in his Danish cuisine and our meals including desserts were delicious. The decor and ambience were just as inviting. We’re so happy we went!

The Monte Cristo... that is about all that needs to be said lol everything including the service was lovely and we all enjoyed our food and had a wonderful experience here. Settled in such a quaint and unique town that is a joy to visit with many culinary options to choose from I am so glad my family stumbled in here and hope we can come back soon.

delicious traditional open faced gravlax sandwich on pumpernickel and a second sandwich of sliced meatballs. Both came with lightly pickled thinly sliced red cabbage, a small serving of excellent potato salad, and other garnishes. AND they have a sizable semi-outdoors, well heated patio.Parking: parked on next block and walked through a side street straight to the restaurant. Sunday evening in March. Likely more crowded im summer.

Visited Solvang with the family. Came here for lunch and restaurant wasn't busy. Got seated right away. Food was pretty good. The only thing I'm not sure if I would recommend is the clam chowder. I would say it was a 7 out of 10. While the food was good, the service was another story. Our server was okay and the food took a little over an hour to prepare. About 30 min in, our server told us the food was on the way, and then 20 minutes later, it still wasn't ready. Disappointed with the service.

You'll find some pretty good Danish food (for a country that is not Denmark) at Bit o' Denmark. I ordered a smørrebrød platter that came with three small pieces of bread topped with frikadeller (Danish meatballs), flæskesteg (roast pork) and havarti cheese, as well as a pickled herring starter that came with three flavors (regular, tomato and curry). The pickled herring was really good, especially the tomato and curry flavored ones. The smørrebrød were decent as well. Portions here are very generous compared to Denmark. I was a bit confused by the bread they served with the pickled herring and smørrebrød - on the menu it was called "pumpernickel" which is a German bread that is not used in Denmark for smørrebrød. I'm not sure if what I received was meant to be pumpernickel or rugbrød (Danish rye bread, which is the stuff you want for smørrebrød), but it wasn't as good as what I've had in Denmark or that I've made at home.

This place looked so cozy my partner and I stepped in to grab a light lunch. We had reservations for dinner so we just wanted a charcuterie board and a light entree share. At first glance we were so excited to eat the charc board but then when I picked up my first grape there was mold. I picked another and also mold. I lost my appetite soon after and just drank water- which even then I also feared was contaminated. We thanked the nice staff and left. Pics for proof - under photos

Awesome service. Angel was great. Beers were some of the best I have had since my trip to Europe. Food was tasty and decently priced for a touristy town. We had a cup of onion soup with a charcuterie board. My friends had the prime rib sandwich and pasta, everyone was very happy with their meals. Our server was super friendly. The restaurant was very clean. Would recommend
