The food was good. We stopped in Solvang on our way home from vacation in Morro Bay and boy did we hit the wrong weekend..it was their biggest annual celebration so everything was so crowded and long waits.. I was wanting a hot dog of all things...on it way back to the car we came up on this restaurant and it had to wait because the parade was starting. My hot dog was really good as far as hotdogs go. My husband had a hamburger and is was sushi very good. The French fries were really really good.

I gave atmosphere a 2 because there were so many flies in the restaurant. We spent the entire time swatting flies. My nephew asked for a fly swatter so we could start killing them. The mission was impossible because there were that many flies. My favorite place has become my least favorite place. You would think that when a customer asks for a fly swatter they would get the hint and shut the door. I brought my Nephew, who lives out of state, to chomps to enjoy a meal and not swat flies. I'm sad to say I won't be back.

I was here on 09/20, during the Danish Days celebration. So, the restaurant was very busy. Ordered the Black and Bleu burger (with an extra pattie), sweet potato fries and a vanilla shake. The food was delicious! The young lady that took the order and brought the food patiently answered my questions about the menu and provided great service.

Chomps in Solvang – A Diner Gem with Fantastic Food! Chomps is the kind of place that makes you glad you stopped in. My better half went with a cheeseburger and fries while I dove into a Reuben sandwich with onion rings—and wow, everything was spot on! The burger patty was fresh and juicy, the fries perfectly crispy with just the right seasoning, and the onion rings had a crunchy cornmeal batter that made them absolutely addictive.
The Reuben? Easily one of the best I’ve ever had—loaded with flavor and cooked just right. I also love that there was no upcharge to swap onion rings for fries (a rare treat these days).
Our server, Cash, was outstanding—friendly, engaging, and super attentive without ever being overbearing. The owner and staff made us feel right at home, which only added to the charm. This was my second visit, and both times have been exceptional.
If you’re in Solvang and craving classic diner food done right, Chomps is a must. Great people, great food, and a welcoming vibe—you can’t go wrong here!

We had sandwiches. They were OK but nothing really special. I liked the atmosphere and would definitely go back to have malts, shakes or ice cream. The waitress was great, asking about food allergies, etc.
