October 2025: Extremely disappointed! I love this place but today the service was.......😒 We ask for pastry, coffee and a hot chocolate to go and there was an older lady that insisted for us to go sit down and that we would get our stuff in the sitting area. They took LONG! And then they charge us a sitting fee 8.75% for a to go order. I have come here before and have always take my stuff to go. Never had this issue! Very disappointing

So, we are crazy serious about our sugar. To the point of making notes as we compare bakeries. A long time ago I had a Macaron at some other place-meh. Thought I just didn't like them. The Macarons here are so pretty with lots of flavor combinations. Decided to give it another try after all I'm in Solvang when sugar is the main attraction. Well, it was fantastic. Had one with Lavender and another with Orange. Looking forward to trying other flavors.

The food and coffee were fine - not great - but rather tasty. We were just under the impression from their website that they offer sandwich options. They don’t. They offer small, premade pizzas and ham and cheese croissants along with a variety of pastries.

Danish Mill Bakery (est 1960) is an iconic bakery in Solvang that offers traditional Danish pastries, cookies, and coffee. A must-visit for authentic flavours and a cozy, Danish-inspired atmosphere. I walked-in just to ogle at their pastries, however, temptation was too strong. So I decided to give my nascent relationship with sweets another chance. I had TWO truffles, a classic and dark martini; each cost $1.75 USD. It’s very good, bloody amazing!
Service was fast. Female staff was professional. Atmosphere was chill. Layout was spacious. Prices were on the high end. Parking was abundant. Collectively, this is a good Danish bakery.
Overall, I had a good experience and utterly enjoyed my truffles. I recommend you visit.

Would not recommend this place, i never leave reviews but this was so bad that i feel like i need to. we did arrive later in the day around 5:45 and they would not make us any coffee drinks as they already cleaned the machine we bought a bunch of pastries and went out side to enjoy them within 5 minutes they came out and asked us to leave as they were getting ready to close and needed the chairs. terrible costumer service from the moment we stepped inside.

I was in Solvang for the day and it's a MUST to stop at this bakery to purchase their Danish cinnamon loaf bread, so delicious! This loaf has enough sweet & flavor for anyone. If you enjoy having a treat with your coffee this is the treat to enjoy!

I really like the princess cake. It has thin layers of sponge cake, jam, and cream on top!!! Also has a cute Denmark flag. Other pastries are good but kinda sweet
