Barista was abrupt. Online menu showed hot breakfasts, he said he hadn't got around to cooking anything, it was 8:30 am! We ordered coffee and scones, he didn't offer to heat the scones. I asked for napkins, he complained that other people used the shop and he couldn't find them. I told him we would be sitting outside when he found the napkins, he never once stepped outside. Poor representation of the faith and customer service.

Great place. Wonderful people. They let us see the stained glass from the inside.

Scones are BOMB!! All their baked goods are made in house and from scratch

Went for the vegetable hummus sandwich and they do not have it. Only One vegan option really, avocado toast. Have almond milk for coffee. Very pretty area and nice atmosphere. Updated from previous review on 2024-12-06

BEST KEPT SECRET in the Santa Ynez Valley! Literally the VERY BEST baked goods I've ever had in my life! Great prices. Unique, sweet location and just downright AMAZING! People say "awesome" too often where it isn't necessarily true. At Holy Grounds, you're going to find the most "AWESOME" fresh baked pastries you've EVER had, and that's a fact!!! Unbelievable GEM!!!!

I'm in no way of a coffee drinker but my wife is. We where staying in the area and Holy Ground Cafe was the only thing open in this small town. Best coffee food I have had and my wife liked the coffee. We won't think twice to stop in again when in the area.

We had driven by a few times and the name was so clever, we had to stop and try it out. So glad we did!Plenty of parking, and a great outdoor seating area to enjoy the beautiful local weather! Inside, the menu is abundant with tasty-sounding options, and the pastry counter is overwhelming - everything looks so delicious! All fresh and fluffy, with large portions. We almost couldn't decide on an entree (the quiche is highly recommended, and another patron was expressing his gratitude for his breakfast burrito). The breakfast sandwich I got was flavorful and the toasted sourdough wasn't scratchy on the roof of my mouth. Oh, and the side salad was tossed in a really good vinaigrette! We split a warm slice of banana loaf and it was INCREDIBLE. I really should have gotten my own, I didn't want to share it!! The frosting melted and we used forks to dip each bite. Honestly, thinking about it is making me want to go back for more...So glad we stopped in, can't wait to go back and try the quiche and scones!
