We played bocce tonight and then went for dinner and drinks in the restaurant. It was a gorgeous night and the patio was very busy! We had a large group which I understand can be more difficult. Eric was AMAZING in getting us sat. He was running all over the place wearing many hats. With how busy he was, he still made us feel seen. He took our order and brought as chips, salsa, fries, and onion rings as an apology. He worked his butt off tonight and it was very apparent how passionate he is about his job and how much he cares about the guest experience. Overall, although we had to wait a bit longer than we would have liked, he personally, along with the rest of the very friendly staff, made sure that we were satisfied and had a fantastic evening!

Came to the River Grill for the last day of restaurant week! My mom and I had been checking out the River Grill for restaurant week since before it began but didn't make it until the last day. The River Grill itself is very nice! Lots of windows to let in natural light with a view that overlooks the hills and golf course. We were brought some water not long after being seated and had our order taken. On this day, my mom and I decided to split our order! To start, we got the Harvest Salad. It had plenty of toppings that created a variety of flavors and textures that surprisingly made for a somewhat unique salad experience. It was very delicious. For the main course, my mom and I opted for the Chipotle Chicken Sandwich. Since I don't eat red meat, I asked if the bacon could be put on the side and they kindly accommodated the request. Honestly the sandwich was sooooo good! I'm definitely a sandwich enthusiast and this one hit every mark for me. The bread was warm and toasted, the chicken was still steaming from being so fresh out of the kitchen, and there was a perfect ratio of all of the toppings to create a perfect sandwich moment. I got the sauce all over my hands in my enthusiasm for consuming it. For dessert, a Smores Brownie Sundae was the finisher. It was very delicious! My mom is very hit or miss with desserts, since she doesn't like overly sweet things, but agreed that this one was perfect! The marshmallow was toasted and gooey, the brownie was fudgey, and the cold vanilla ice cream perfectly brought everything together. Overall, I had a really good experience at the River Grill. Would definitely be more than happy to come back.

Super cute place for breakfast or lunch! The view of the hills and golf course is amazing! Indoor and outdoor seating. Straight forward food menu. Love the California Omelette with in house salsa, cheddar and bacon. Fresh fruits on the plate! Great service. Huge parking lot, right next to the course. Local gem, away from touristy area. My new favorite!

Been going to RG for 40 years. Worst hamburger ever! Smelled & tasted rotten. Sent it back. 2nd one not any better! Staff laugh at it! Waitress told me it was a cheap meat they serve as sliders during social hour. Then way was I served it at 6pm as a dinner??They used to have quality food. The blue plate special of pork burritos other people had were just ok. Not much meat inside but plenty of lettuce, rice & beans.Shame on you, Alisal River Grill for purchasing cheap disgusting meat. Remember this is a small town & you are catering to many locals. Word will get around!

When you walk in you are greeted by the host and you are given the choice to sit anywhere which was kind of nice. Friendly staff and the food was delicious and flavorful, very "well balanced.". Thank you!

This was our first visit. Nice rustic restaurant with a beautiful peaceful looking view of the golf course green. Great quick service. The food was delicious and ample amount. The Bloody Mary included a thick spicy bacon slice plus plenty of olives, yummy. No complaints we had an enjoyable lunch, the price was normal for Santa Barbara and we will be returning next week.Vegetarian options: One of our friends is a vegetarian and she thoroughly enjoyed her avocado tacos.Dietary restrictions: I am allergic to cilantro and my ordered meal had cilantro on the menu but was removed which was much appreciated.Parking: Plenty of parking and handicapped areas.

Ate there last Sunday. Took a friend to lunch. Three of us. Club sandwich, burger, and chipotle chicken sandwich. All went down well. My takeaway though was the waitstaff. Cordial, friendly, and prompt. Very nice view of the foothills and golfers. Thank you.
