Really great breakfast/brunch spot, and they also serve other meals of course. We got the Cali Benedict, and it was a decent size and delicious. However, the drink was just OK. Got “so damn fresh” and, while it was fresh, it was basically a $14 virgin mint julep. The restaurant itself was beautiful, and we were seated in about 3 minutes even with a line and people ahead of us.

We stayed the night on Thursday July 14th in Solvang and looked for dinner restaurants. This place was not to busy even though we made reservations. The staff seemed overwhelmed but was really courteous. Our waitress was great and the food was good. The reason I gave 4 stars was The steamed vegetables were a little hard but flavorful, and I was really hungry for steak and it was a 8 oz so not to big. The price was good for the portions and a nice little place to eat.

the quality of food was good and it was filling as well. The outdoor area was lovely and calm and it is a nice place to spend time with your loved ones in Solvang!

Very good food and service. We ordered Pastrami Hash N' Eggs and Succulent Bacon Burger, and both were great. The only problem was the long wait time to be seated. But all the restaurants in Solvang had the same problem as we visited this city on Memorial Day weekend.

The three stars are for the service. The food was excellent. On a busy weekend expect a 45-60 minute wait for a table of two. The waiter informed us of the special and soups of the day. The meat in the soup was wrong, he stated it was chicken but it was pork. We didn't get our drinks until after our entrees arrived. Lastly one server wasn't wearing a belt and his pants hung very low and you could see his underwear.

Cozy and really tasty restaurant in the middle of Solvang. We got the charcuterie board for starters and the "Three little bigs" as main course and it was some of the best food we have ever tasted. Well done!

We dined at Succulent for dinner; the food was very good. We had been wine and cheese tasting for most of the afternoon, so we ordered two appetizer dishes, the brussels sprouts and the grilled prawns. The brussels sprouts were quite good but could have been cooked a little longer. The prawns were very tasty. My partner must eat gluten-free; the menu is limited in that regard. Service was good. However, the restaurant was very noisy. It is a very busy bistro style restaurant with a bar, and some of the bar patrons obviously had been drinking for most of the day. It was very difficult to carry on a conversation between the two of us.

Went for lunch and it was outstanding. Everyone's meal was great and the service was super. Nice outdoor seating. Highly recommend. Get the corn soup if available

Succulent looked like a pleasant place to eat but we left disappointed. The food was at best fine but the portions and quality was worthy of the prices

Excellent food and service. The only reason they're getting a 4 and not a 5 is for their lack of gluten free options. But if you're gluten free and with a group you'll find that the Pastrami hash and eggs is fantastic. The bloody Mary is pretty good too. The bacon on the bloody Mary is decorative but would have been better if it was maple or sugared bacon. I tried the bacon and didn't care for it. But overall this is a great choice for breakfast.

Best French toasts I have ever had hands down! We took a long drive from LA and this food made it worth it as well as the rest of Solvang

Every business has an off day, but how management handles that tells us all we need to know about the business and ultimately determines our opinion and experience. Sadly, Succulent’s management fell far short in dealing with not one, but two, servings of fish that was significantly undercooked. We ate at Succulent with another couple during a recent visit to Solvang. We were seated fairly promptly and our waitress was friendly and helpful. I ordered the halibut special. When it came it was lukewarm on the edges and cold and raw in the middle. The waitress immediately offered to put in another order, which I gladly accepted. Unfortunately, my dining companions were finished with their meals by the time my replacement fish was served. While somewhat more cooked than the first round, it was only lukewarm in the middle and still significantly undercooked. Our waitress was sweet and offered to order me something else from the menu, but my friends were already finished with their meals and I didn’t want to have them wait another half hour for my dinner to arrive. At that point, a gentleman who appeared to be management approached our table and said he’d heard there was a problem with the fish. I explained what had happened and he plunked down some sort of ice cream/liqueur concoction in a small cordial glass and offered it to somehow make up for my dinner. He then proceeded to tell me that the halibut special is one of their most popular menu items, and while he could understand perhaps one mishap, two undercooked meals was an anomaly. Translation…I didn’t know what I was talking about and the fish was perfectly fine. He asked if we were local, and when I explained we were visiting but staying in a guest house, he suggested I put my fish in a “doggie bag” and cook it more at our accommodation. DIY dinner??!!!! Bottom line…he was patronizing, thought some sort of ice cream/liqueur drink more than made up for my lack of dinner and also did not reduce or remove the charge for my inedible fish from our bill. In all fairness, my friends enjoyed their short ribs, but I left hungry and angry. I should also mention that my husband and I spent years in the food industry and know our way both around the kitchen and cooking fish. Management needs some lessons in customer service!

Wonderful food, drinks, and service. We had the chicken, meatloaf, pea soup, biscuits (in photo) and chocolate mousse pie. Meatloaf was superb and like no other. Fresh, homemade cuisine with inspired seasoning and flavors. This is the good, good stuff! Yum!

Excellent food! We are exited to be trying new places during *Santa Ynez Restaurant Week. (Where Participants offer a special menu) Most restaurants take this opportunity to show case what they offer. Here we felt like we just got the economy meal, with small portions, distracted service, and a child size desert. Hopefully this was just an attempt to offer a lower price, but I would have rather paid a little more for a full meal, and attentive service, because the food really was good.

Great place to grab a decent bite to eat, especially if the pancake house next door has a long wait.Beautiful outdoor dining space. The French toast is out of this world!!
