The best winery in California! I would like to thank Don for making the visit spectacular he went out the way to greet us and he was so friendly. I highly recommend anyone who is looking to taste wine and check out the founder and history of wine in the US it’s very intresting.
Had a lovely wine and cheese pairing tasting here. Great selection of red wines! The outdoor seating on a warm sunny day is just perfect!
Went there with kids. Kids liked its maze. But for me wine was not so impressive. Compare to the quality and price, I would learning toward to Napa wines.
Our tour with Antoine was incredible!
Open to the public with a nice outdoor space, you can sample some of their wine, no reservations required worth a stop if you're in the area
Absolutely phenomenal experience at Buena Vista Winery, and it was all thanks to Don! From the moment we walked in, Don treated us like VIPs, royalty, and long-lost friends all at once. His warmth, knowledge, and generosity were next-level—he didn’t just serve us wine, he crafted an unforgettable experience.
It wasn’t just about the wine (which was spectacular); it was about the hospitality, the storytelling, and the genuine care he put into making sure we had the best possible experience.
If you visit Buena Vista Winery, pray you get Don as your server—because he doesn’t just pour wine, he pours passion, excellence, and a touch of magic into every glass. 11/10, five stars aren’t enough, and if we could give him a standing ovation, we would!
The grounds are beautiful the wine is excellent but Visoli made our experience that much better. Ty
Amazing wine and fantastic service!
Beautiful place! Delicious wine.
Met some cousins here from back East. We all had a wonderful time together talking, catching up and wine tasting. Wine and Tour here at Buena Vista Winery was Beautiful as was our room in the castle.
Had a great tour guide who told us many stories and was very entertaining 👏 😄.

Staff was very friendly. We sat in one of the caves for our tasting. It was a little odd with the decor. Wines were just ok. None of the wine is made onsite as a heads up.
We had an absolutely wonderful time at Buena Vista Winery, and our server, Mili, made the experience truly exceptional. She was knowledgeable, attentive, and made us feel so welcome throughout our wine tasting.
We had the opportunity to try several reserve labels, including a fantastic Cabernet, and each one was exquisite. Mili’s recommendations and insights about the wines added so much depth to the tasting. It’s clear she’s passionate about what she does, and it really enhanced our visit.
The setting was stunning, the wine was phenomenal, and Mili’s outstanding service made it a visit we’ll remember. Highly recommend Buena Vista Winery, and be sure to ask for Mili if you can – she’s the best!
Wonderful experience, great tasting and pours, staff were very knowledgeable and friendly. Eileen was a phenomenal host and server!
Absolutely one of.tje most beautiful wineries in the state. It is also the oldest so there is so much history on the property. We went for the wine club Christmas celebration. Ot was lovely. Great wine, good food and really nice group of people.
Our hotel concierge recommended we visit Buena Vista Winery and I'm so glad that we did! A fantastic experience from start to finish - no reservations required. The wine tasting experience was lovely - we opted for the premium/reserve collection of reds paired with a cheese board. We loved the Chateau Buena Vista cabernet sauvignon and bought several to bring back with us! As far as I know, their wines can only be purchased at the vineyard and the Chateau Buena Vista collection is made in limited quantities. I highly recommended stopping by for a visit if you're in Sonoma and trying the wine. We also quite liked the chardonnay but as we don't typically drink white wine, we purchased a few of those as gifts.
The grounds and buildings are beautiful. I quite appreciated being able to freely access the property including the wine caves!
