I went to El Dorado for my birthday dinner with my friends We did wine tasting at WALT only 1 min walking distance from El Dorado and we really liked this course. Wine tasting and dinner at nice restaurant was such a good choice! Inside of the restaurant is very spacious and cozy. Only one thing, the grilled salmon which we ordered along with risotto didn't come out at the first time, the our server realized and brought to our table later. Except that, the food was very tasty and we really liked the atmosphere of the restaurant. I'm the person who especially love the Sonoma vibe and the restaurant definitely made me feel I'm in the nice and cozy town.

I had a lovely experience at El Dorado Kitchen today! My friend and split shrimp tacos and a crab sandwich, which were so good! I also had a glass of sparkling, which was delicious, that our server Spencer recommended to me. Service and food were awesome! Definitely will be coming back!

This restaurant was recommended, but after my experience was told the restaurant has slipped away recently. Our server was horrible, never answered my questions about the menu and was largely a ghost while dining. We were visiting from out of town and I asked her for recommendations; no response. Our drinks took forever, after ordering the second round I looked for her and saw our drinks sitting at the bar. Our table ordered a bottle of wine that she placed in a standing bucket away from the table and my wife had to get up to refill the table's glasses. I ordered a filet mignon; medium rare and it came out extremely rare, jelly and cold in the middle. I asked them to fire it again and it came out the same, just slightly warmer. Worst dining experience I've had in years and will never go back there again.

We were visiting Sonoma and arranged a dinner for 6 at El Dorado Kitchen. The restaurant is open so you can see the kitchen, the service is wonderful and the food was terrific. A very good wine list (as you'd expect in Sonoma). Our table was probably a little loud but the open atmosphere asborbed the sound and the waitress managed us perfectly. Highly recommended!!

Most food was decent/good. Seafood paella was really disappointing, it was basically burnt rice with some seafood on top (rice was basically inedible, seafood was OK). Overall the worst and most expensive paella I've had in my life.

I do not have the words to accurately describe this experience except for WOW. The building is immaculate and everything to the eye is very pleasing. Amazingly as well was they were crowded, the rooms open, the restaurant bustling and you felt like you were the only customer. The hostess was engaging and very pleasant and our server Duff (Ask for him) was everything you could ever want, knowledgeable, humorous and professional. With all due respect to my Texas roots, the Pork Belly here was the best I’ve had and it even came with Prawns. I don’t know if you’ve heard me say I’d eat Cod instead of Salmon, but the one last night my Danville cousin and his wife chose is making me rethink my likes. My East Coast cousin chose the Short Rib which was perfectly cooked, full of flavor and extremely comforting. My Paella can only be described as breathtaking. Full of flavors from the sea with salmon, shrimp, squid, mussels and some of the best chorizo I’ve ever tasted, it was perfect. The wine selection was to die for and the brown butter old fashioned is my new favorite drink. Give this place your business when you are out that way, you won’t be disappointed.

The place is located in downtown Sonoma near the square. The hotel was closed for renovations when we went but the restaurant was open. The place is really nice and elegant. Definitely a high end feel. Our waiter was great and service was excellent. This prices were a little on the high side; but the food was SO GOOD! We ordered: TRUFFLE FRIES: sprinkled with shaved Parmesan. Very tasty. Normally, I eat a few fries and I'm done; but I finished it off! BEET SALAD: I didn't see much dressing but I was surprised how tasty it was! All the beets were hidden under the arugula. BURRATA w/PESTO: This came with a few crostinis. This dish actually didn't have much taste. My friend and I was expecting a strong pesto taste but you couldn't taste anything. I don't know if the chef used something that neutralized the pesto but there really wasn't much taste. I love burrata so I still loved it. All the appetizers we got were delicious. I would come back here again.

I don't know what happened. The restaurant is beautiful, the menu has yummy options, and the food is made with high quality products. But the entire experience was mediocre except for the short ribs in the hash. They were really good. The coffee was burnt, the waffles were soggy, and the chicken was not salted. Ordered an extra 4 shots in a latte (I know - too much!) and we were charged a whopping $16 for the latte. I really wanted it to work ... not worth the drive unfortunately.

I'll start with the positive....the ambiance and staff are pretty great. Now, the negative...I'm hoping tonight was an off-night, due to the disappointment of our dishes. I ordered the filet mignon (medium rare) and my partner ordered the Paella. The food came fast, but my steak was rare and lacked any real seasoning (let's just say Outback Steakhouse-Victorian center cut filet is wayyyyyy better- less chewy and way more flavor). I'm not one to send food back, so I suffered through it but I'd expect better. Also, the carrot purée tasted like baby food, so I couldn't stand to eat it (having 3 kids...no way). My partners paella came out dry, no sauce.....basically just cooked rice with some flavorless seafood dumped on top. We thought the dessert (churros) would be better. Hoped for the best but their fryer must be too hot because the inside was completely raw. The outside was crispy and delicious, but inside was all dough. Such a disappointment. We paid a lot of $$$ for such a disappointment. I'm hoping this is an off-night, but man....i had high hopes.
