We were unsure of whether to stay at the Mission or to go downtown to the square and I have to say that we made the right choice by staying here. Rooms are beautiful and we were upgraded upon arrival to a suite. The grounds are serene and quiet, the pool is great and the spa is top notch. We took the free bikes for a day and toured around doing some wine tasting, which was perfect especially since the bikes are as nice as what we had planned to rent in town for $100. Overall had a great time and really appreciated how kind and helpful the staff is.

Came for a long weekend of wine tasting. The first night our AC didn’t work and it was 80 degrees in our room. That was fixed by the second night. We have stayed in many historic hotels and this one is definitely dated. The service was amazing, the concierge, Angelica, and the grounds keeper, Anne, had many great suggestions for us. The hotel and restaurant staff were also super attentive and helpful. We experienced top notch service all around.

We wanted to get out of town for the weekend even though we are only 45 min away and booked that morning with chase rewards. Had a lovely time with the family. Two young children. We got a room with a fireplace and they “camped” in front of it with sleeping bags. Seemed to enjoy that more than a double bed room and got us a king sized bed and extra room because only one bed in the room. The pool is great, the food was fantastic and they had a really fun band (Royal Jelly Jive) play on Saturday night with a food truck and fire pits with s’mores. Even better, when booking with Chase we received $100 credit to use on site and free breakfast. We will definitely be back.Rooms: Beautiful room with king bed and working fireplace.Noteworthy details: Fun place to hang out and relax. Games in the lobby and a great band on sat night.

I have to say i'm most impressed. We had signed up for a medical conference that was to be hosted at the hotel. Prior to it we cancelled. The cancellation got a bit lost in the cracks but the management arranged a full refund and 50% off stay gift for us to come visit. That's pretty cool :) Thanks guys!

This review is of the thermal bathing experience only as we did not stay at the inn.I usually go to Korean spas in the Bay Area and Fairmont offers what is essentially a much more varied experience but what it does not have and Korean spas have is a cold plunge. However, Fairmont has a great cold water experience where you can get out of a hot pool and empty out a barrel full of cold water onto your head. They also have a cold shower inside the steam room which was nice.I really liked the thermal pools and especially the pool with underwater music. We spent around 6 hours enjoying various water treatments, eating and I even took a nap. I felt wonderful sensations in my body afterwards and thought that wow, I had not felt that good physically in a long time.Next time in Sonoma will probably stay at this inn.

What a wonderful experience! The entire team were absolutely fantastic and it made for a wonderful experience for me and my wife. Great rooms, superb grounds and the staff were superb. I have to give a particular shout out to Tasha who was working in the restaurant the night we were in there (she normally worked in group catering). She was pleasant and seriously switched on, I hope the company is doing what they can to develop her career (having met the General Manager (an excellent chap), I'm sure they are) as she was seriously competent.

Great place! They were laying a bit in available service staff to man the bar. The pool scene is cool. Large property that is well kept. Bar tender was extremely nice and great service.

We love the Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn and visit as often as we can. The hotel itself is a beautiful property and their staff always go above and beyond for us! They are accommodating and thoughtful. I highly recommend this place and we can’t wait to return!

We were treated like royalty at Sonoma Mission Inn this weekend! It began with a personal welcome note and bottle of champagne from General Manager Edward Roe. He welcomed us back (this was our third annual girls weekend). He even decorated my sister's room for her birthday! That's what I call service. The breakfast was healthy and delicious and the staff paid close attention to our coffee and mimosa refills! We met in the bar each evenings for cards and laughs and the wait staff was kind and attentive there too. Finally, the evening music, food truck and complimentary wine tasting was so fun. No need to ever leave the grounds! We did want to explore, however, so Fairmont staff booked us at a fantastic Kenwood winery, VJB Winery in nearby Kenwood. We were treated to an amazing 5-glass tasting with cheese and small plates to accompany it. I'll definitely be sending friends back there. Finally do not miss the morning hike with Ed! He took us to Jack London State Park and told us amazing stories about the author's life and writing as well as the grounds. It was an easy hike for all levels and he was such an informative guide.with fantastic stories to share. Finally and possibly most important, the staff at Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn seems to really enjoy their work. All of their interactions with us (and each other) were positive and upbeat. The answer is always "yes" and with a big smile. A true testament to a well managed and cared for staff. We can't wait to return next year!

One of the best hotels you will find. The rooms, service, Assocaites, and location truly cannot be beat! Thank you for always making our stay so special and memorable.

Staff was super helpful, nice and made eye contact. Was disappointed that night 2 of our 3 night stay we got no housekeeping although we were gone from room from 10 a.m. - after 5 p.m. Rooms are nice, but many different structures (not a high rise) Valet was GREAT. Bar service was very friendly.

Had a wonderful time at the Sonoma in. Place was quaint, very quiet at night and relaxing atmosphere. We enjoyed the spa that was offered for 50$ fee, had a variety of things you could do: pools, mineral spa, saunas, or just to relax on a chair with a book. The gym was clean and readily stocked with towels, gym equipment, and water. We wished there was more water readily in our fridge but I believe that could have been easily solved by calling front desk or walking to the lobby for water. Overall we enjoyed the service and space to relax

Lovely stay at this iconic destination! You can tell this property is old, which I adore! So much character- I love the hardware. We stayed in a king suite, room is cozy and clean. We appreciated the fireplace and complementary wine! We took advantage of the bath bombs and candles. This room had a large semi private patio tucked above a Roman fountain. We spent our first night sipping away cocktails by the pool, and made our way to the front lawn for snacks and live music. We opted to take our food the room but the restaurant is nice and has an upscale vibe. Spa is obviously what people come for! Don't miss the opportunity, take your time to enjoy all the amenities. Service, staff and surroundings were absolutely stunning! Can't wait to come back and spend more time.
