One of my families favorite places for dinner! We love the giant burritos, they have a great vegetarian one, which has so many vegetables in it. I also love their pulled pork giant burrito, the giant can be shared and have sour cream, guacamole, and all the good stuff! They also make epic nachos, give them a try!

Do yourself a favor and never dine here. There are so many better options for Mexican food in the area until this location makes major improvements. I have had this place 3-4 times over the years and only now decided to leave a review. Each time I have had the food it has been some of the poorest quality food I have eaten from any Mexican restaurant in Sonoma/Santa Rosa. I don't ever like to leave negative reviews but hopefully this is a wake up call for the ownership. Came in around opening time 10:45 today and got two super burritos. Upon trying the steak burrito it was immediately obvious this was poor quality steak that has been sitting around for ages. I had to spit out every other piece because it was filled with gristle and it tasted like a shoe. If that steak was cooked that day, I would have to assume it's old and bought from a very cheap source. Makes you have to question the level of sanitation and standards for food prep. Skip this place until big changes are made.

We were attracted by the name of this restaurant. We also wanted to try some place new . Our order was 1 fried fish taco and 1 fish burrito . The cashier was friendly and thorough , even asked if we would like free chips , of course we did . Our first clue that the food wasn't going to be as good as we expected was the 4 salsa choices & the salsa verde bar. We found all the choices didn't taste good & were bland , salt didn't help either. Then our food arrived the fish taco was bland and I was disappointed and as for the fish burrito it was gross ! More meats than fish, with runny beans, just from the appearance I couldn't even imagine eating it nor watching my son eat it . With a name like Gourmet Taco Shop we expected food far superior than what was delivered. 1 star is all I can give this restaurant & it's only because the cashier .

Order at the counter from a fairly sprawling menu. Has the chorizo breakfast burrito straight up here (no added potato or other things). It was pretty plain and super oil-e. It wasn't inedible but I was expecting more. At least it was a good size. Also tried the crispy carnitas tacos. Similarly did not have much flavor and were disappointing but larger on the size end. The women behind the counter was sweet and our order came quickly but given the taste, I probably wouldn't go back.

On a recent Doordash order, the quality was lacking. Enchiladas were filled with dryed out chicken meat, as was my buritto. No sauce or cheese inside the Enchildas, just the dried out meat. Super burrito was certainly not super....mostly rice and tiny bit of sour cream and guacamole. The chicken, like the enchiladas was dry and overcooked. This place used to be very good, but doubt I'll order again with so many better choices in town.

I ordered a pollo tostada after seeing the large tortilla bowls behind the counter. I opened the container to eat it and was surprised to see now crunchy bowl. I saw green lettuce, some shredded white cheese and tons of sour cream. after sting and taking a few bites, I found some green tomato salsa, cold chewy pieces of chicken. Dissappointed, I used a chip to scoop and found a soggy cold corn tortilla underneath which was smeared with black refried beans? so unappetizing and dissatisfying. No care when's into this dish at all.
Smallest burrito I have ever gotten outside of Taco Bell! The carne asada burrito was made with very dry meat and had such a small amount of beans in it that I literally thought they forgot to put them in until half way through the burrito. I don’t believe I will be back any time soon.

Yeah, it's not *gourmet*. Let's just get that out of the way, mm-kay? It feels like Mexican Food for people who don't know what Mexican food is. I had the carnitas and they looked like two footballs placed in front of me. Strangely, despite being a Mountain Of Meat, they were flavorless. I mean, I just had the same thing at another Mexican restaurant and it was incredible. But this just tasted... like nuthin', I guess. Very weird. When you have to douse your taco with salsa to get any flavor, you got a problem In The Kitchen. The people seem nice. But I'm not sure I'd ever come back, not when there's other places on Hwy 12 delivering spectacular competition. Sure the portions are huge but bigger isn't necessarily *better*. I mean, we all saw "Batman v Superman," right?

This place has the best, most authentic food. I just stopped by for the “happy hour” tacos on Tuesday and wow! I got the beef soft corn tortilla taco and the crispy tortilla chicken taco. Delicious! And yes, the tacos came with chips and salsa and guacamole, no extra charge. The beef was shredded, nicely seasoned and the quality of the beef was like a sirloin or ribeye steak. The chicken was tender, juicy and had a gentle mesquite grilled flavor. All was so yummy! Next visit, I will try the burritos. Oh, and “happy hour” tacos is all day on Tuesdays.

High quality meats really good lengua which is hard to find. The carne asada and carnitas were tender seasoned well and tacos come with beans, ciliantro and onions if you say "everything". There is a salsa bar to add your desired salsa from mild to hot.

Have been going here for decades and it's consistently great. Definitely recommend splitting the surf and turf burrito with another person as it is delicious and huge.
