Harvey's Gourmet Donuts is the ultimate in donut enjoyment. With a 30 year old donut machine, Harvey's cranks out pillows of donut-y comfort, hot and fresh. You pick a donut flavor and a topping and in minutes you have a cone of three of your own personal mini-donuts. Flavors are seasonal and always changing. The sugar and cinnamon is divine as is the key lime pie. Light and moist, the donuts are slightly crisp on the outside side with a perfect cake-like center. Pro Tip: You may be tempted to share a cone of mini-donuts with your companion. Don't do it: everyone needs their own. You won't regret it. Harvey's Gourmet Donuts is a "don't miss" for dessert lovers in Sonoma.

Donuts were not as fresh as they were other times that I gone there.

Visited downtown Sonoma as part of a small group wine tour, our guide recommended so we popped in after lunch, yummy freshly made donuts, I went old school and had the classic cinnamon and sugar, sooooo good and a great price point. ?

This place was truly an amazing experience. From the moment I entered I was spoiled. Table service and wait staff was impressive. The knowledge of the menu and specials was great. I was attended to but not overly so. I will definitely return.

I will never return and it has nothing to do with the food which smelled and looked wonderful. I was treated so rudely by an older man with longer salt & pepper hair who wore a top hat. If he is the owner, he won't stay open long. I was asking a female employee about the different serving sizes when he insisted I speak to him. We didn't want such a large serving and asked if we could purchase a few singles. He said, "No," so I pointed out a menu board with a half dozen listed. Again he said we could not buy that quantity. I gathered he was just being a pushy salesperson and told my daughter, "Of course you can get a half dozen." He then started making rude/bizarre comments such as, "I bet when you go to a restaurant you are the one complaining and sending food back to the kitchen." He also asked, "Where are you guys from." When I answered, he said, "I didn't ask because I wanted to go there, I wanted to know where to avoid so I don't run into you." I walked out and spent my money at the Chocolate Cow a few shops over. I recommend you do the same.

We tried two different donuts at Harvey’s Donut Bar, both were delicious! Definitely worth stopping here for a mid-afternoon snack!

Harvey's donuts were good, but Harvey was a lot! Hahaha I remember being eight months pregnant and moody, and I was NOT in the mood for Harvey and his shenanigans. He was telling bad jokes, making obnoxious small talk, and playing tricks. Anyway, there is a great outdoor space that's perfect for sitting and eating your donuts. We got cinnamon sugar mini donuts that were pretty good.Harvey's has many toppings and options, so I'm sure there's something for anyone with a sweet tooth!

We were walking by and decided to treat ourselves to these donuts. They were delicious and we had a hard time not to get more. Mini donuts tasted wonderful!

Who ever heard of a donut shop that doesn't open until 10:00 AM??? Well if you try and go to Harvey's you'll experience one...

We booked Harvey's for our wedding reception. Unfortunately the machine was not working and the donuts could not be made. As sad as this was (especially since it was a special tribute to my late father) I am an understanding person and know that things happen. I let it go and enjoyed my wedding day. The wedding was Friday and by Sunday I still hadn't heard anything from Harvey's. No acknowledgment of what happened let alone an apology. No contact about my deposit. So I sent an email. Nobody responded. So on Monday morning I called. Harvey picked up and told me that as soon as "she" gets in I will have her call you first thing. Nobody called back. Tuesday morning I called and left a voicemail. No reply. Tuesday afternoon I wrote a more strongly worded email to say that I'd appreciate some sort of contact and that I was beginning to feel frustrated. I finally received a response from Harvey that was pretty short and he asked me to call him. I called expecting some kind of apology for the delay but Harvey was just very argumentative and defensive. I was patient and said that I understand he is a small business and is understaffed but that it would be nice if he could also hear me out. That as a client who is 5 days out from an event with no contact from them and being ignored multiple times that I reached out, that he could understand my frustration. He just continued to argue that he's never had a complaint and I should have known that he would reach out based on reviews etc... He said that I didn't leave a voicemail because he checked the messages. He said he had too many emails and everything else other than "I understand that could be frustrating and I'm sorry we didn't reach out sooner". Anything. Just felt very defensive and argumentative so after going in circles I suggested that we should probably end our conversation because I felt like I wasn't getting through to him and as long as it's resolved we don't need to keep going. They did provide the refund of deposit promptly and I'm sure the donuts are delicious. Just beware that communication is lacking and that if anything does go wrong you'll need to keep at it and don't expect an apology. Unfortunate overall.

FYI, the Railroad St. location in El Verano isn't open currently BUT GOOD NEWS: he's got a "sweet" little spot on the Square. For the record, I've been going to the Basque for years but it's declined recently. Harvey's place is superior if you're looking for sweets and excellent coffee. It's better coffee for sure, and his donuts are extremely light and tasty. I had sugar cinnamon today and they were beignet-like in texture. I met Harvey there too -- I am not a shill, just saw him in his trademark tophat and we chatted. Cool longtime local guy trying to get a business off the ground. Funny and real, he has created a nice space inside the El Paseo courtyard, sort of directly across from the Bear Flag statue, on 1st East. His staff was very friendly too, provided quick and efficient service. If you like high quality donuts (they are mini versions, served in a pomme frites-like cone, a nice touch), ya gotta try this place. He's got a nice set-up in the courtyard, with some high tops to eat there. Finally, he's got a great logo - a tophat wearing donut! Well done.the SQUARE
