Love, love LOVE HopMonk. Always excellent food and great choices. A fabulous beer selection and excellent cocktails too. Plenty of seating inside and outside on the patio (fully covered by a huge tent in late autumn and winter). Excellent service and a comfortable, relaxed place to spend an afternoon or evening.

I have been an occasional customer here throughout the last decade.
I have had great experiences in the past, but in the last year I have kinda written off some of the poorer experiences due to assuming that they were just outliers. I can say with confidence now however, that the service here has CONSISTENTLY declined in the last year.
It takes longer than ever to get waited on. The food will be passed to the table and the waiter/waitress will never ask the simple question, “Do you need anything else?”. Four visits consecutively we have had to wait longer to either hunt down an employee for aioli, ketchup, ranch, etc or have had to find it ourselves, all while our hot food still awaits. Also, the artichoke and cauliflower should come with their respective dips/sauce in the first place. Water refills are slacking. Beer pours are inconsistent. Portions are also inconsistent each time I visit. There seems to be some serious disorganization, or maybe it’s neglect.
Keep in mind all of this is happening while PRICES are still INCREASING.
This is looking like an ugly trend for the Sonoma Hopmonk

I really wanted to like this place, I really did. We had reservations but got seated in the worst corner of the restaurant where we didn’t get waited on for 20 minutes. My wife got 2 beer samples which she couldn’t even drink. I ordered a $30 French dip which was room temperature to cold. Fries were cold. Au jus was cold. Got about half ounce of ranch on request. Neither our sandwiches said they come with pickles yet here was a giant pickle soaking both our sandwiches and fries in cold pickle juice. If your gonna charge $30 for a French dip and $18 for a freaking grilled cheese it’s not to much to ask for hot food
The Hefeweizen isn't as good as.it used to be. The chef and crew seems to have changed, the food isn't anywhere as good as it used to be.

Ordered the hot chicken sandwich and subbed for pickle fries. Pickle fries are pretty good. Hot chicken sando was pretty disappointing, dry, chicken probably not made in house, over cooked, pretty hard to eat. Service was fair but not great. It wasn’t a busy night. Maybe I caught them on an underwhelming night. Full disclosure this is the first time I’ve been here. Very nice location and it feels great wherever you sit. Nice big bar. Nice to have enough tvs to watch games
