Checked out this spot next to the square for the first time today. It was good but I wouldn't say it great. The menu seemed a tad limited. Chips and salsa don't come with the meal and you need to pay extra which is fine, but refills cost extra too. I had the prickly pear margarita which was great! It was sweet and a tad spicy (right up my alley) we ordered the chicken pozole (this was the best part of the meal) shredded beef sope, beef dorado taco and enchiladas. The sope was good, and the taco we didn't eat since it came with something we asked not to have on it due to food sensitivities (we let the waiter know and he offered to have it remade as we were leaving but didn't remove from the bill) the enchiladas was mediocre. I probably won't be back but did really enjoy a few things here.

Fantastic place in downtown Sonoma! My wife had the nachos and I had the chicken chimi, both were great. The big deal is the strawberry daiquiri. Comes in a 16oz Mason jar and is yummy! Great value. I would return here next time I'm in Sonoma.

1st timer. Patio dining excellent. For the amount of people, less than 8, the service could have been more attentive but NOT bad. I had the paella and it was excellent. Serving size was large for a complete meal there with a small box for later. The quality of the large scallops, large shrimp and white fish excellent. The rice and seafood cooked to perfection with fantastic flavors. So if you like fantastic food come to La Casa You WON'T be disappointed. I will be back.Parking: On a Wednesday in March plenty of street parking but that will change come summer and on weekends; after all it is in Sonoma.

La Casa is such an iconic eatery in the sweet little town of Sonoma. I enjoyed my first dining experiences there in the early 80’s and the food was memorable. Over the years not living in the area, visits have been infrequent. I’d say the quality of food and experience slowly dropped over the years, but this most recent visit made me wonder why it’s still open. It was like they’d driven out the locals and were planning on feeding tourists who valued reputation over the excellent cuisine that it once stood by. The portions were abysmally small (in this case chile verde) and then after the first bite, it seemed like both the pork and the verde were on vacation and were replaced with stand-in wannabes. Service was adequate. I’m sure it’s still a place to get great drinks though that wasn’t what we indulged on. And one more thought. How come the entire restaurant smells like the bathroom fragrance? I experience this in so many restaurants and I’m baffled that no one has complained enough for them to stop the fragrance emitter smell from entering the restaurant.

Upon arrival, we were sat pretty quickly and our waiter came to our table quickly as well. The food came and it looked amazing but had lack of flavor to the food. The drink was really strong and well worth the purchase. Parking was a nightmare and the restaurant doesn’t have a designated parking lot for their customers, so plan ahead to find parking if you decide to try this place.

From the first bite, the Avocado Relleno was my favorite! Mouth watering, spiced just right, black beans were a clean taste and not earthy or filled with lard. Awesome! Staff was attentive and really nice. Restaurant was clean and a relaxing ambience. Fried Ice Cream was just the right touch to end the meal. What can I say? It was one of my best dining experiences.

My husband and I love going here. They have a nice little deck outside in the courtyard where you can sit and enjoy the evening. We have never had an unkind waiter or waitress. We both have a regular dish. Caritas and fajitas. It is notrank no. 1 on our list but in the top 5 for sure.A pleasant place to enjoy a great Mexican dinner while visiting Sonoma.
