I brought my friend for her birthday and we sat in the beautiful outdoor section. The service was perfect and the food delicious. We were not rushed and enjoyed a leisurely meal and great conversation.
Great service, casually sophisticated ambiance, menu that features quality ingredients and preparations that are well-executed and delicious without being fussy.
While the ambiance is beautiful, the food really wasn't very good. The exception was the stone fruit salad. We got two seafood dishes and both were undercooked. It was really surprising given the high price point of the food and the elegance of the place.
The patio was very nice and the staff amicable, but there were wasps around our table, some attracted by previously-spilled food on the floor, and apparently the restaurant only had one “anti-wasp” device, so we had to finish our meal inside.
Wow Layla at MacArthur was 10/10 in terms of place, ambience, aesthetic, food and vibe! I cannot recommend it enough for a casual brunch or a fancier event with girlfriends. I hosted my sister's Baby Sprinkle there with 13 guests and everything about the place fulfilled what I envisioned the event to be and more. Dawa - the event coordinator for the restaurant - was very gracious and responsive about sending me photos about the different seating arrangements and was kind enough to reserve a beautiful round table for the event as well as an lounge sofa area for guests to mingle pre and post brunch. I appreciated how accommodating she was to my requests! Furthermore, the service at Layla was impeccable. Monce was our host and she went above and beyond with accommodating our large party at the restaurant and taking photos for us. I want to highlight just how aesthetically beautiful the entire McArthur Place grounds are which allowed for guests to truly enjoy the ambience. Thank you Layla at McArthur Place for making my vision for an intimate fall-themed Baby Sprinkle come to life!
Great menu to choose from....Strongly recommend starting with the Parker House rolls while you decide on your entree....
Amazing restaurant in Sonoma in a beautiful hotel. The service was spectacular. We were greeted with an anniversary card and champagne. Lunch was excellent. Will definitely ba back.
Perfect patio lunch on a Fall day, mostly shaded. Everyone enjoyed their food but it seems to be almost the exact same menu as last year. Not a bad thing, but it's nice to have a few new items.
Overall lovely experience Great service Very fine food Nice wine list Excellent wine list Highly recommend
The food was excellent. Ambiance very nice. They even recognized it was our 40th Anniversary and gave us Champagne on the house, nice touch!!!

Wonderful place to have dinner! We ate in the patio and it was beautiful, serene, inviting and comfortable. The food was delicious and the service was great. I would definitely recommend to others and plan on going again!
This was my first time dining at Layla. The dining room was light and airy with a modern flair. Wednesday's are “free corkage” at the restaurant, which is why I chose Wednesday to give Layla a try. I appreciated the attention my nice bottle of wine received, with an ice bucket immediately provided. We began with the oysters on the half shell from British Columbia. We were told the restaurant always gets its oysters from British Columbia, which surprised me, since such lovely oysters are harvested right here in our backyard. The six miyagi oysters were bigger than I prefer. They had an odd, creamy consistency, which I never like in oysters, so I let my partner enjoy the other five. I instead ordered a crab cake. That was absolutely delicious. My partner and I both decided to enjoy the scallops for dinner. The dish comes with four scallops on a bed of a fresh corn mixture that was great, however, the one scallop that I tasted was undercooked and had an awful ammonia type taste. I literally removed it from my mouth as unnoticed as I could. My partner seemed to enjoy his. My scallops were not good and very, very salty. There was also stuffed squid on the plate. I didn't recognize what it was stuffed with, but it was also very salty. The Parker House rolls were good. The best part of the night was our server PJ. He was very attentive to pouring our “free corkage wine” He checked on us frequently and was very nice. I probably should have sent the scallops back, but instead took them home for my partner to snack since he liked them. I give a thumbs up to atmosphere and service. Mostly thumbs down for the food.
We dined al fresco and the weather was perfect under the shaded patio. Service was terrific and the food was delightful. Highly recommend this restaurant.
Out of four diners, only one enjoyed her meal. Service was inattentive. Didn't live up to expectations.
We dined here on a late Sunday night, got lucky to be seated and served even after they closed. I ordered the lemon ricotta and spinach ravioli. The flavor was delicious, if only the mushroom were left from the equation (in my opinion of course) the combination while different and unique, was overwhelming and I felt the ravioli had enough going on and would have rated it 10/10 if not paired this way. I also had a salad with feta and apricot which was the perfect anti pasto. Here is a photo and mocktail that I couldn’t finish
