Always the right choice for lunch. These guys do some delicious authentic Nashville style fried chicken. They feature Coca Cola in glass bottles, old Americana signs and decor, and indoor/outdoor dining. Couldn’t recommend higher!

Being a local to Sonoma options are vast but our go to place is Lou’s. We go often and it always hits the spot. We’ve tried most of the menu and can’t be disappointed with any dishes.

My favorite menu item would be the Nashville chicken hot. It has great flavor and the chicken is always juicy! A side of crinkle fries and cold Coke😎.

Service is great being greeted at the door and spending time outside enjoying food.

The goats are a plus

Down-home country cooking, sitting next to a goat farm, perfect.

I loved Lou’s but once they changed their menu everything went downhill. Got a to-go order today since my partner use to love their Nashville Chicken Sandwich. Wanted to try something else so he got some wings sucks to say that he got very sick afterwards. I still got the Nashville Chicken Sandwich since it use to be one of my biggest craving while being pregnant, I could not finish it. Sandwich tasted like it was rotisserie chicken just fried up did not taste like it use to. Super disappointed sad to say we will not be going back.

If you happen to be on that american road trip and looking to live the American Diner experience for a moment, this is the place to be.
Avoid going to the generic soulless corporate establishment where the food will only taste like a greasy synthetic cardboard.
This little diner may help you discover or even remind you what a good burger and shake is supposed to taste like. We all wish there were more options like this. The price is well worth the memories you end up taking home to share with your friends.

Have driven by this place many times in my life in the Bay area. I was just looking for lunch and then I saw Lou's. I thought why not give it a try. Got a burger and a shake, both were great.

A really honest, old-fashioned diner vibe. Nothing fancy but perfect when you're in the mood for a great burger or chicken & fries. Cool music always playing in the garden and playthings outside for kids. Dog friendly too!

They changed the menu after Aug 2025 and completely removed the bone-in Nashville Hot Chicken. I've been a regular patron here since 2019 when it was still Boxcar Fried Chicken, before they changed name to Lou's. They had the best fried chicken for many miles and this is a huge loss to the community. Unfortunate decision by management and one that I hope they reverse.

The Nashville burger was okay as a standalone item, but nowhere close to a replacement for the bone-in fried chicken experience.

Sad to say, I will patronize a different diner during my regular Sonoma wine tasting trips until they bring the bone-in chicken back.

Wow, this was good food. Understated place- you might not realize it at first glance, but do stop here, this is a great great find. Great quality. Thank you.

Good place to bring the grand kids as they can feed goats and then eat some seriously good grub. Wash their hands first, please. Plus 1 for the fried onions burger. Also, The onion rings appear hand cut and battered! Crazy.
