The best hangout bar in Sonoma—delicious cocktails, welcoming & unpretentious staff, casual environment with a cute outdoor area, and the price is right (the perfect recipe for a great spot). Sara is the absolute best!! She knows exactly what I like, so all I have to do is ask for a certain spirit and she always crafts something spot on. She does it all with a smile. She’s seen me through my highs and lows and always keeps it real. Go to this place!!

Probably my favorite place in Sonoma to hang. Great music. Great drinks and atmosphere. I've also played and sung here. Fred is a REALLY lovely guy. I haven't gotten out very much the last year, but when I have, it's been this place. This past weekend, Randy (who's super sweet) did his usual monthly open like here and it was absolutely delightful.
It's a very welcoming place. All are welcome here.

It's the new year ... so looking back at all things 2024 I noticed a receipt from The Starling. I'd put an "!" & "🙂" on it, and recalled what a fab evening we'd had. I couldn't resist giving a great review at this late date. This is my kinda place. You feel like a local even when you're not. Excellent drinks. Great bartender. And easy conversations with fellow patrons. Next Sonoma trip -- which is annual -- we'll be back.

Hip, hot, happening…but… enough about me. Went to the Starling Bar on a Monday to meet a friend. They had a hot dog and Martini special. So good, so laid back and relaxing and good music in the comfy patio. Great service too. Going back soon.
