Fantastic food and service. Manager stepped in an so graciously started our order and service. Very kind and knowledgeable staff but noise level so overwhelming it was impossible to catch full description of various dishes! We had delicious dishes containing figs and desserts and sourdough bread were top notch! Atmosphere is a bit old—could use some sprucing up. Bathrooms need plumbing tended to! Love love love the food!

Seth took care of our party of 6. He was the absolute best. Very pleasant. Great recommendations.

Overall, food, service and ambience was excellent. What I found inflexible about the management of the seating was that we selected indoor dining on our reservation. When we arrived, we changed our mind and requested outdoor seating. Because we had chosen indoor seating online at the time of our reservation, after they lead us to an outdoor table in a nice location, they immediately stated we couldn't have that table because we hadn't chosen outdoor as our choice in our original reservation. We were seated at an alternative table. The reason given didn't make sense . It was because we hadn't chosen outdoor seating originally.

Great meal in a beautiful setting. I had the bone-in schnitzel and it was generous in size and perfectly executed. So glad we found this spot.

This is a Sonoma icon that's been by the square for over 20 years. The ingredients are always fresh and the dishes are interesting... in a good way.

We loved all our food and our server Seth made our night! He was funny, attentive, and excellent at matching the energy. He cared about our allergies and made an already great experience better! Our table had four different dishes, three deserts and an appetizer and we loved it all.

Olivia, our server, was a gem! We had mussels, burger, salads, cocktails. Everything was amazing. Will recommend and be back for sure!

Nice lunch in the plaza. The food was excellent and the restaurant is filled with art. Ask about the story of the Fig! lol

Food was great. Out server was outstanding. The way the restaurant is laid out makes it much quieter than an open restaurant the same size. The restaurant was full and our group could all talk comfortably. Would definitely recommend.

Popular for good reason! The food was wonderful and they had so many items on the menu we wanted to try, next time we may come for dinner twice. Highly recommend the pate and duck but everything we tried was wonderful.

If I could compliment this establishment more, then I would. Everything to eat there was delicious! We had the croissant, artisan bread and steak tartare to start, then we got the madame croquet and the breakfast sandwich. All excellent choices. Our server (and every server there) were extremely nice and welcoming! They came up to our table and interacted with us. The best service I’ve ever had! Not to mention the patio was eye catching. Would highly recommend this establishment.

Wonderful dinner experience at the girl & the fig! The tomato soup of the day was perfection. Highly recommend the fig and pork belly sandwich. The butternut squash was cooked to perfection. The drink menu really has something for everyone, even delicious mocktails. I appreciated the special touches for my birthday. We had exceptional service!

Made a quick trip into Sonoma for work and hadn’t had anything to eat. Made the decision to stop in this little spot. Many time in Sonoma but never tried as it’s always so busy.
What a great friendly atmosphere and service was impeccable. The butternut squash soup drizzled with honey was delicious as well as the goat cheese salad. Oh the mimosa wasn’t bad either!!
Fun little bar and restaurant! You should try!

I have never EVER walked out of a restaurant until now. We were so looking forward to this experience that we booked months ago, but our server (bald man with beard and glasses) was impatient and rude, and scoffed at us when we asked questions about portion sizes because we're on medications that make our appetites suppressed.
He clearly was annoyed that we might not potentially have a high bill in the end, and instead of answering our questions he stomped off.
My husband went over to speak to him, because after all this was our 10 year wedding anniversary, and he came back saying he would bring us a glass of bubbly and apologized, but also tried to force dishes on us that we didn't want and at that point I was just feeling uncomfortable.
The ladies at the table next to us mentioned he was rude all night to them as well, and they asked to share a dish but instead he ordered them each their own.
We decided to leave, and actually ended up having the absolute best dinner down the street.
I contacted the restaurant via email the next day explaining what had happened, and here we are, 3 days later, and I have still not received a response, nor have they reached out to me apologize.
They will not get our business now or ever, unfortunately.
