Tucked right on Sonoma Plaza, Red Grape is one of those places that instantly feels like a home away from home. From the moment you step onto the sunny patio, you’re greeted with warm smiles and the gentle hum of plaza life - footsteps on historic tiles, the occasional laughter drifting from the fountain, and a light breeze rustling the old oak trees that have watched over Sonoma for over a century.
The food here is consistently delicious and satisfying - everything from fresh, vibrant salads to perfectly cooked mains shows care and attention in every bite. But what truly makes Red Grape special is the staff. They’re genuinely friendly, approachable, and attentive without ever being overbearing. Each visit feels like being invited to a friend’s table, complete with thoughtful wine recommendations or quick, funny conversations that make you smile.
Fun fact: the building itself has been part of Sonoma Plaza for decades, a quiet witness to the town’s history - from early 20th-century merchants to today’s bustling mix of locals and travelers. Sitting in the outdoor area, you can almost imagine the stories those walls could tell.
For our family, Red Grape has become a regular spot, a reliable place to gather, relax, and savor both the food and the atmosphere. Between the sunny patio, tasty dishes, and genuinely welcoming team, it’s the kind of place you return to again and again.

The worst margeritta pizza I've had.
Dough was too hard and dry. Very disappointing. Never again!

Friendly service and good pizza! They have vegan cheese for the pizza and pasta with red sauce for the kids. Just what we needed

Atmosphere was fine, but food and service were terrible. We went because of all the positive reviews but our food was almost inedible. Tomato basil soup was burnt, salads and fries were ok but we all felt sick after.
I would avoid this place.

The sandwich and salad are great.
Really close to smaller wineries so you can walk and shop.

Excellent food, busy so we were in a corner, had to flag down bus person for coffee refill. Very noisy and hard to carry on a conversation.

Great service - salads and pizza.
The pizza was pretty good. I only say that because I’m from Chicago and spoiled with tavern style pizza.

It's thin pizza it's very good. The fried cauliflower is various very good. Defeat the health part though. I love the brussels sprouts yum yum. Their hamburgers are also very good.

We stopped here for lunch in between vineyard visits. The menu was unique and the two dishes we ordered were fantastic. It was slightly pricey for a quick bite but that is expected on the square. Give it a try if you’re in the area.

The Red grape has an open casual atmosphere... A bit of a diner vibe. Our service was excellent as were the salads. The thin crust pizza was fantastic! Great place for a lunch between wine tastings.

This is not just a pizza restaurant there are other dishes that are mostly good & have their own character. Their pizzas are tops & unique I love them. The service is attentive.
We keep going back since it is in a town we live in & the place is nice.
Found this by accident. We were visiting the 3 Fat Guys winery and asked the young lady working there about lunch. She recommended this place, mostly because it is owned by the wife of one of the owners of the winery. We had the Sweet and Spicy Cauliflower appetizer and it was excellent. Probably one of the best appetizers I have ever had. We the shared a wood fired pizza that we also loved. If I lived in the area, I would be there at least weekly.
Very busy day but they found a spot for us out in the breezeway. Nice out if the way table but still afforded excellent service. Ordered a Caesar Salad and a pizza amongst the two of us. Plenty of food and so delicious. Perfect stop before our wine tasting. All items looked great. Will be back. #stevensleavin
