Had the best time at Tin Barn when visiting from Portland! Danielle gave us a tour and was such a great host all throughout our tasting. We will definitely be back ❤️
Our favorite stop out of 5 days in Sonoma/Napa! We enjoyed the wine here more than any of the high dollar, fancy vineyards we visited!
Great wines, great setting, and a very friendly host!
Personal favorites were the 2021 Merlot from Pickberry Vyd and the 2019 Cab Sav, but it’s a hard pick because everything was fantastic.
I’m so glad we found this place. Sometimes places of the beaten path far exceed the bougie places. We learned so much about the processes of winemaking and made great conversations with one of the partners. We will gladly become members and order across the country. This is a must stop of Sodoma valley.
Excellent wines from a small producer.
Danielle was a wonderful host and we loved learning about the wines and history of the vineyard. A cool, unexpected tasting room in an industrial looking setting. Definitely on my list to revisit!
Very friendly and amazing wine.
This winery was the last of our 3 day trip. It was different than all the beautiful wineries we visited but well worth it. The "warehouse" atmosphere was cool and had a good vibe. Michael was great telling us about how he became a wine maker and explaining all the different varietals we tried. Would recommend for a different tasting experience.
One of the best tastings we have done in Sonoma. And, Michael was a great host.
Tin Barn was a great spot for our group of 7. We were able to sit outside and enjoy the nice weather as Mike walked us through a tasting of 6 wines. Since it wasn’t too busy he also gave us a tour of the warehouse answering our questions about his winemaking process. This is not your typical vineyard-view wine tasting, but it is a fun spot to learn more about the wines in the area directly from a winemaker who loves what he does.
Tin Barn Vineyards is my new go to winery. The ambiance of the tasting room, the delicious variety of wines, and amazing co-owner Michael Lancaster are unmatched. I highly recommend booking a reservation while you’re in Sonoma! You must try the 2020 Pinot Gris! I even signed up for the wine club. I can’t get enough of it!

The wines here are tasty, but I would not put this place on my list for wineries to visit in Sonoma. Not quite the traditional ambiance most are looking for - the tasting room is currently in the parking lot outside (covid) of the Skypark warehouses. And Michael lacks the charm and hospitality one looks for in their tasting experience.
Very good wines. We were pleasantly surprised.

An excellent reason to visit Tin Barn is the wine industrial ambience, and its role at the epicenter of Sonoma Valley winemaking. The Eight St Wineries are mostly working wineries, without regular tasting rooms, with exceptions like Tin Barn. They are series of long continuous buildings on either side of 8th St (southeast Sonoma) with a strong wine making vibe, the rooms where it happens. The side by side wineries share a common water treatment system, in a condominium arrangement, but the facilities themselves are individual owned. If you are a fan of Sonoma Valley wines, it is a must see location. On this visit, I focused on the reds, which are excellent, especially at the price points. The Ricci Carneros Pinot Noir has sweet red fruit and earthy notes on the palate with a creamy mouth feel. Should pair well with food. Both of the Zins I tasted were outstanding, the Los Chemical is elegant, with nice structure and a dark fruit finish, also a good bet to pair well with food, barbecue ribs or pizza, with the Gilsson Russian River Valley Zinfandel the star of the tasting with big, jammy, dark fruit and a long finish. The Sonoma Valley Cabernet, at $40, is a good example of Sonoma Valley cabs that, while not as big or complex as our Napa neighbors, are on their own very good balanced Cabs that pair well with food, and are much more affordable than the big names on the other side of the Mayacamas Mountains.
Totally obscure location, but was worth the search. Mark was fabulous and for only $15 a tasting, we had six different varieties. ALL the tastings were great. Clean finish on every single one. So excited for my club membership. Would highly recommend.
