I believe people come here more for the atmosphere, the music and have a drink to get distracted a while. Musicians are not all great all the time. And prices for food are a bit high fro what you get. The carnitas are good, not the best.... But they cut them up to finely, not as enjoyable. Staff is ok, they don't check up on you often, so try to order everything the first time or they do take long to come back around. Over all ok place.

So here I start off my day in El monte with my husband here in taqueria periban. While we were here we decided to dine in and heard the músicos playing.The carnitas we're amazinggg!!!!We were welcomed with great service and our waitress was outstanding and when we finished our food the bus boys came in quick and pace full with a big smile on their face. Now that's something to look out for. Definitely coming back bus boys were on point and live music was great and last but not least will definitely come back for more carnitas!!!!

Although the experience was worth trying once, the overall expense and the additional card charge might make me hesitate to return. I was working in the area and wanted a good home-style mexican meal instead of the usual fast food and i found this place! HOLE IN THE WALL GEM! I had the chile verde costillitas (green chilli ribs) and man they were awesome! Big portions and really hot hot sauces which left my mouth burning, in a good way. Also washed everything down with an horchata that was also good! Will be back! 10/10 would recommend!

I just wanted to come here and appreciate good customer service when deserved. It was probably my second time coming here and everybody is usually very good and attentive but i would definitely consider myself a picky person when it comes to the quality of food and guest services. I just wanna give a major shout out to the server who attended me. She never had a fuchi face when i made my requests. she served my and my family just the way i like to eat! like at home!! she made sure my food was out immediately hot and well done, all my condiments, my drinks and made sure my table was always clean and with napkins! love it here! One of my all time favorite restaurants. Go to orders would be a pound buche mix, (lightly fried), and a pound of their al pastor. Once you get the meat you can make your own tacos. I also order grilled onions and peppers on the side in addition to the usual raw onions and cilantro. All the sides plus their red and green sauce make an unforgettable taco. I should probably try the rest of their menu but I find myself ordering the same thing because its so satisfying. Customer service is also one of the best I've experienced.

You can't buy happiness, but you can buy carnitas. This place is known for their carnitas. I'm a fan of maciza (clean solid meat). The carnitas here is always clean and not greasy. They also have surtido which is different cuts of the carnitas. They being out two hot sauces for you to put on your food. I suggest you use both. The green one is mild with lots of flavor , and the red one brings on the heat. Carnitas are fried pork meat. When in the mood for carnitas and a good Michelada this is your place. They also have live Mexican regional music playing in the background. It can get a little loud, When you arrive they'll help you find a table if you are eating in. Note that this place closes early. Don't come in the afternoon and expect it to be open. I was feeling like menudo today, but I found out it doesn't have hominy in it. That's a big no for me. So instead I had the quesadillas. This quesadilla is huge and everything in it comes together nicely. In the past I've had the carnitas nachos. Those are always good. I would suggest to grupo one of their Micheladas. These are always good. My favorite is with a Pacifico. You can never go with wrong with a Pacifico. This establishment does not have regular restrooms. They have porta potty's outside and wash stations.
