Boathouse on the Pier

There was six of us for dinner and the service was very slow. We didn't order any alcohol, we are not drinkers, so it was just water for us. Our perception was that since we are not spending any money on drinks we got ignored for water service. My son and I ordered the Surf ‘n Turf which came out over 15 minutes later compared to the other four meals. On top of that, the food was cold; but it did taste great. I really didn't have the patience to complain , they would have just put in to the microwave to heat it up and make it worse . The other four entrees were great. The carprese salad and buffalo cauliflower were a great app, the squash app was not worth the price. When we were done we just sat there for 20 minutes for the check, we asked for a box and a check and sat another 20 minutes. Just be more attentive and make sure food comes out hot, especially when it is the most expensive entree.

Food was excellent! Ambience was good. Service was really not good. Took a long time to take our order, get our food, and then wait for our check. Our original waiter never came back to check on us and was moved to the outside to cove those tables. The hostess would tell guests to seat themselves, then disappear from the front desk to bus tables or get water. All the staff seemed frazzled and unaware of their responsibilities.

The food was great. Everyone in our party of five enjoyed their entree. The service was brutal though. Be prepared to fetch your own silverware, wait forever to have someone get your drink order, flag someone down to bring your tab. There are lots of servers and not many tables, they just seem very inefficient.

Stay Away! We were looking very forward to eating here after reading reviews, etc., online. We drove over an hour from North Lake. The restaurant itself was very cool with a great view of the lake. Also, our server was very nice but that is about where the positives end. Nothing else worked. After being seated it took forever for a server to come out and take our drink order. Again, she was very nice and the issues with this place go way beyond her. She was stretched thin working all over the restaurant and the gentleman that was "helping" her was not much help. We were there for an hour and a half and only one person in our party of six was brought a refill on their drink. We ordered two appetizers that came out about 15 minutes apart with the second one coming at the same time as two of the six entrees. Two more entrees came out about 15 minutes after that and they were cold. The fifth entree was the wrong entree altogether and had to be sent back. It was replaced before the sixth entree arrived and it was terrible (beach tacos). When we asked the helper about the sixth entree which was a $63 surf and turf he acted like he had no idea what were talking about. He came back and said that the order was never placed and that it would be another 15-20 minutes at which time we asked to cancel it and bring our check. It is obvious that this place was once a great restaurant. The food quality is nowhere near the price point they are charging. And like many places now there didn't appear to be anyone in charge or anyone that cared about the customers' experience.

Service was mediocre although staff was very friendly when they did come to the table. Restaurant was not busy, but it still took over 30 minutes for us to get two appetizers and another 40 for the main dishes of which half of them were cold. Also a non service dog was allowed in the bar area and the server/bar tender pet the dog and did not wash his hands before continuing to serve and prepare drinks. Foos was decent but this is not a restaurant we will be returning to. Disappointing to say the least since they have an amazing view of the lake from virtually every table.

Our waitress and waiter were absolutely wonderful and the food was really good. It was a really nice surprise.

Great location and food/drinks. Fun beach vibe during the summer. Service was a bit slow, but understand that summer is busy. NEED umbrellas for outdoor picnic table dining. Sun can be a real scorcher and hot.

The views are spectacular. The food was decent and the service was horrible. Our hostess was great when we were sweated but our waitress was also the bar tender. It was busy and it was difficult for her to attend to us and when she did she made us feel like were a burden to her and always had an attitude when asked for simple items. We will come back for the view and convenience to our hotel but they need to work on training staff customer service or add more staff support.

The food and service was only average in comparison to the price. A little disappointed as when we visited last year we were quite pleased with our visit.

Unfortunately, the restaurant decided to have a rehearsal dinner that night and did not call or text me. I pulled up the confirmation text that was sent the day before when I showed up for my reservation, and we were left without anywhere to eat for the night. Shame on this horrible place 

Wonderful atmosphere. Beautiful view of Lake Tahoe. The cocktails and scallops were delicious. Service was great. Highly recommend.

Go for the view not the food or the service. It's just low quality pub food with inattentive staff. Even though we asked them to wait until our appetizers and salad were finished before bringing our main dishes they brought everything at once. Someone brought a dog into the restaurant and the wait staff who were friends with him spent time petting it. Health code violation.

Went here with my wife and daughter for our dinner. We got the famous scallops however the scallops were overcooked and food overall was just OK. Typical bar food. The view is great, but the service could be a little bit better. They were using the mentality that they were all working together, but it seemed like they were not all on the same page. Also, it was very tough to get parking.

Food was amazing. Waiter was nice but not experienced. Not efficient. Waited 15 minutes for drink. Appetizer came with food. Only half our orders came out. Other half came out 10 minutes later and they dropped it-then it came out 30 minutes later. They comped those meals and that was great. This could be an amazing restaurant if you invest in your waiters a bit more.

Location is hard to find, but is right on the lake with beautiful views. Loved the seared scallops and fish n chips while watching the sun set. We sat near a noisy table, but they quieted when their food arrived.
